    New personality: Summoner

    Hi there.
I'm not an active forum player and don't know if someone have already proposed something like what I'm gonna do...
Please consider that apart from the spell "Summon" everithing else already exist and I just put it here just to make the persona look more like the others:

    Summoner.
    +1 mana per tick

    +10% Military Science Effectiveness
    +25% Magic Science Effectiveness

    Spell Book: Paradise, Fog, *Summon.

Starts with +400 soldiers, +400 specialist credits and +400 wizards.

*Summon is a new kind of spell, think of it like a reverse nightmare.
It cost no runes (or at least very few) and allow the caster to summon creatures in number close to 1-2% of his army.
The summoned creatures will be 3/3, they took space (max population) as army do and need food but don't need wages.
Every thick 1/3 of the summoned creatures will be banished (like horse at home without stable).

Not a terrible idea, but maybe make summoned creatures more like prisoners. A certain number of "waifs" or "shades" that fight at 1/1 or 2/2 or whatever and maybe guilds or towers or something hold a certain number.

The whole pers is more a single spell and some bonuses, I know it, it's just that in my opinion it didn't work well if it was only added as a single spell for some races and it needed to be put as a new pers.
Your idea that guild and/or tower could hold the summoned creature improve the pers a lot.
As for the strenght of the summon: at first I thought they could have even more than 3/3 since the summoner would lose em every thick, but making em woirking as you proposed then yeah they could be probably be nerfed (but 1/1 seem a bit too much, I think 2/2 would be fairer).

I don't think it's viable if they don't decay. Otherwise once you have cast a bunch of spells to max out the guilds/towers, it wouldn't take much to maintain them. If we were to do that you might as well just give them to the personality automatically and not make them require spells to produce.

Also what happens if you want to get rid of them (because they are taking up your space). You have to raze your guilds/towers?

Duplicate bonuses (mana & channeling sci), a third 'magic' oriented personality (if this even counts as a personality), and a spell that is garbage.

1-2% of military size is nothing... You hold more prisoners than that with 1% Dungeons.

    No Rune cost is absurd.

    Assuming 1000 specs = 6000 raw off
    2% = 20 summoned creatures = 60 raw off

By comparison, a single Dungeon holds 20 prisoners that fight at 5 off points for 100 points per acre of Dungeons..

This personality is unviable due to lack of any decent or original bonuses, and the spell is literally nothing..

You can cast the spell multiple times so at say 30 times, 60 becomes 1800.

Lol. Yes indeed. I am not particularly in favour as I think it would be too hard to balance, I am just pointing out that I don't think the issue is that it's too weak.

If it's an instant spell like that, I guess not.
But with no Rune cost it is ridiculously overpowered.

    On a 400a province with 80% Dr with 6 dspa and 0 tpa you'd see like a 30% off bonus (2% @ 3pt for 30 casts)

Add thieves and the relative increase goes up.

    lol.
At first it's too weak then too strong?
I can agree on the duplicate bonuses on chaneling and military are useless (as I said they are there more to make this idea a pers oriented one instead of a single spell), but I don't think it's too strong or too weak, and in case as I said it could be improved or nerfed if they found it an interessing one.
With the summon deacy even a +30% bonus on ME after a tick it will go down to 20%, the next one to 15% then 10%.
In 4 hrs you'll have a bonus just a bit better than the warriors get and you'll have used all your mana in it.
The fact that you can use tower and guild to house summon is a good idea for me but it dosent mean you have to make em house all you can have, it should be just a small part of it (like the proportion between prisoners and mercs you can use on one attack).
The spell (becouse as I said the idea come from a spell that I adapted as a pers) was born not to get a bonus on offence when attacking (its a big one but not much more big than bloodlust and fana when you consider that you'll need all your mana to get it), but more so as a way to make the enemy fail an attack when a province got chained and make it harder to chain it too (that's why I put that summons take space too since if you cast it you have to take the risk of overpopop too).

It probably is too weak or too strong because it's fairly unlikely that you happened to pick the perfect strength (the devs don't usually do that the first time something is implemented ;p) - but that doesn't matter because as you say, the numbers can change.

Looking at the principle, although you intend it defensively, it would be used offensively unless you change something. It's ~double fanat and BL combined (and keep in mind you can potentially have fanat and bloodlust on top of this). Whilst it decays quickly, offensively that wouldn't matter as you would attack the same hour that you cast it.

If you are trying to come up with a proposal that serves a defensive purpose as you describe, why not make the summoned creatures only provide defence? You may need to consider adjusting the decay rate though (a little slower decay) as I'm not sure it would have a huge defensive use at present except trying to bounce people, which is pretty niche (you need to be online for a start). 30% defence is great but if the enemy KD saw it on during war, surely they would just wait a few hours before hitting? That said, decay would need to be sufficiently high that you can't maintain the summoned creatures each hour just by casting another spell.
