banks should have a monthly interest rate
(heretic seems OP... maybe this just gets applied to sage.)

Would this enhance the game?
It is going to encourage people to stock a ton of gc on high banks - I don't see how that is a good thing.
All the better for me to plunder! Remember when, I think Merchant, had this perk?
Hah. I can't exactly remember what merchant had. I spent a few mins flicking through game annoucements and found this from age forty-something.:
The Merchant (unchanged)
* +15% Income
* Immunity to all Income Penalties (Riots, Plagues, etc.)
* 75% Money Losses on Plunder Attacks
Did it have interest on gc held at some point?
It could have been Human... someone had ability to gain flat rate interest on their GC stockpile at tick. At least OP is suggesting monthly, maybe if it was only calced once/24h it could be more realistic, but i dont see it really.
I don't remember directly, but I have read that people reached a 'max' GC level, and things got messy
lol. Yeah it just sounds like a recipe for problems.
What used to be the rush to explore up cows will become the rush to stock an UB with as much gc as possible.
I have played since beta, this has never been a thing.
I have played since single digit Ages myself, must be crazy imagination, I guess... Merchant and Human had some pretty beastly income stacks, though, like +30% income each as well as double Bank effect on Merch at one time
Age 20, The Merchant ~5% monthly interest on gold in your coffers
