    Question DE/Heretic Build and Strategy

Hi All, I am pretty new to the game and planning to play DE/Heretic this age. I know that DE is good with NM and hence I assume I need to run a build with focus on higher WPA. Can any of you who have played DE previously let me know what went well and the build you ran for A/M role.

NM returns around 1.5% of the military troops (specialists, elites and thieves) under training.
So if you cast 10 successful NM, you reduce your enemies defense by 14% for a very short time.

On your own its not really worth it imho, you could do better with your mana and runes. NM is great if your kingdom is organized and build around a NM strategy.

As heretic you have some thievery potential that you probably cannot use as an A/M, and A/T/M is too stretched out imo. I would suggest to play DE/Mystic with more emphasis on Mage than on Attacker. The conversion rate is a strange thing to cope with. As an attacker hitting in your NW rage during war you lose a lot of offense by creating elites. So a Mystic with double damage bonus, max science bonus, best spells available, best defense unit, and a good offense unit that help you get or stay unbreakable while growing a bit seems to be a nice combination.
If you go DE/Heretic I would rather play a pure t/m. In both cases you need lots of WTs, to fight of propaganda runs.

If you are going to go full T/M, elf is a better choice. You'll have lower NW with higher defense, making you less of a target. Elf also has a nice WPA bonus and extra tower efficiency vs DE's extra spell damage.

If you do want to go A/M, you should consider Mystic or Paladin over Heretic, while Heretic is still workable (-66% thief losses on intel is still pretty handy!) Mystic gives you better bonuses, and paladin better spells.

But as MeIkor said, DE takes a bit extra consideration, since you will be losing offense with every successful tradmarch. On perfect NW targets, you are looking at 10% plus off your Ospecs converting to to elites. Good if you want to eventually hit UB in your war, but bad if you want to keep attacking! Remember to take that into consideration when deciding your build.

DE heretic is fine for an a/m though i'd prefer trying to run it more as a tanky attacker that ops.

As for "what works" your going to have to find a niche roll in your kd because a/t/m is what your going to be tempted to run. if u do it "right" u can be "okay" at it, if u do it poorly u'll be a drain.

My plan would be to nm off easy people then ns them followed by a single hit for land. Have the rest of your kd follow and chain. Your own plan is to use "slow growth" to build up some econ then as your econ grows you train offspecs. You'll either start gaining more and more land and "hopefully" snowball into unbrekable hitting OR u can stall your growth once u have okay econ and decent offense to start massacring the enemy to help your kd.

For what its worth the De heretic in my kd last age END of age had 100% success nming normal attackers but ended the age at ..25.585 (Dark Elf) mod wpa....(on a raw of 7.174). Like all things though end of ages numbers are much higher than early age targets...i think he aimed for 4-7 wpa and 4 tpa all age.

All good suggestions that imho most probably dont work for someone who is "pretty new to the game".

you have to fit into your kd. someone brand new and can be insanely strong if their kd helps them.

+1 to that. One of the best players in my KD was new. Wish some of the others would have done as well as she did!
