yes but it is still only half of a trained specialist and they die at a higher rate too, so it will only really work in the first few days if you train no soldiers into elites or specialists and target untrained provinces, and it will not be ideal. a Better way to do this would be to train all your troops like 6-8 hours before OOP ensuring low nw with high incomming number of troops and enable hits on untrained provinces for optimal gains.

Yes. Note that they don't slay dragons at 3p power.

I was thinking if you need to break someone - kingdom sends you a load of soldiers.. cast aggression, bloodlust .. hit the guy and the soldiers die so your nw drops a bit with the hit.. keep the land cause more casualties.

It's called soldier-ball and can be used to stuff attacks by your enemies and bounce/break them unexpectedly like Marshas nose.

it also invites the opponent to chain that province while army is out, as I said only half the effect of specs, and while you could put them all on horses they still need twice the space which is why I'd advice against trying this in say a war situation.

What about using mercs and steal horses to buff offense? I think it has potential, given that it's basically a 3/2 unit (cast Aggression, attack, then get someone to MV you) for low nw. You can afford mercs since you don't have wages and no need to train troops.

Added benefit is you are also greed-proof.

trained specs are still better and elites better still.

Try going full soldiers and have just 500k gc and you'll see there is a lot of people who would try to plunder even ones greatly out of range would do so since a lot of people has poor understanding of mechanics and how best to gain. I've run high GS in a shell, still got hit for crappy gains constantly even while taking 2-3 times that number back.

The real issue is soldiers die faster and even those crappy hits will smash your military to pieces.

@ elmoheadbutt - your kd would need to avoid giving out relations so you can't be NSd ;p That puts a limit on what you can do with it

Halfling has good TPA by nature so harder to NS? Dunno, worth a try I guess.

In war it can give a nice boost if you maintain a high draf rate.
