    Orc Strategy

In a noobish kingdom of 20 players. Recently joined it, they didnt manage 1 war this age...

    I'm an Orc Warrior

I was thinking as a general oow build when attacking for land and growing:

3 elites to 1 defensive spec
    1 raw TPA
    No WPA

    20% Homes
    10% Farms
    40% Banks
    15% Hospitals
    13% Stables
    2% Dungeons

I know it could be better so any suggestions welcome :-)

Do I really need wizards? The self spells seem quite rubbish and I obviously wont be using offensive mage spells.

I would aim closer to 1:1 dspec/elite, unless you are deliberately running a suicide attacker. With science and horses, that should give you 2:1 off/def. And I would run enough Barracks for 12hr attack times if you are planning to grow by attacking.

The self spells are actually quite nice. They can save you time and space. Plus, if you ever end up in a hostile situation you are going to want wizards and thieves to protect you from lowly T/Ms. Thieves are also useful for stealing, which can speed your growth.

Did you just start? How fast do you want to grow and how big. IMO utilize your personality and add in TGs and rax.

No particular aim for size. Just seeing as it goes.

if youre just training up, thats an OK build, it would work better if you switched the homes and banks percentage... having homes lets you keep better BE while you draft deeper, and having reasonable BE should allow you to run much lower % of banks to reach their max effect (the majority (~2/3) income increase effect, which is what you generally are getting use out of with banks, can be gotten with about 20% acres when you are on 100% BE).

The more peons you have working, the better the value of your banks. So, as you draft deeper, banks have less and less value, and homes more and more; as far as GC generation goes. At the same time, as zulu says, you can likely even drop the banks entirely, make the homes/banks split into 20% TGs with 40% homes instead, and use the extra offence to stretch more value out of plunders. this way when you do get a war one day, you have less acres you need to convert from econ in to war mode, only 40% instead of the 60% with your current setup.

you dont NEED wizards, but they would help protect you from enemy spells as well(a good caster, not really) ... I would personally keep a minimum of somewhere between 0.5-1 per acre on most any province I ran

That does sound like something an Orc would say. :3

Then again, I'm more Mork than Gork.

    So 1:1 or 4:1??

As it's a noob kingdom maybe somewhere inbetween?

So regarding homes or banks, we're saying 40% homes and 20% banks or no banks...

    With my setup as Orc/Ud I achieve 44 DPA (w/ armies out) and 177 OPA (i.e. 4x) at a ratio of 1:2 (dspec:elite)

    and 67 DPA (w/ armies out) and 134 OPA (i.e. 2x) at a ratio of 1:1 (dspec:elite).

I run 1:1 (dspec:elite) OOW because I'm in a ghetto where I exclusively attack to grow and I tend to get farmed at 1:2 (dspec:elite). At 1:1, I rarely suffer more than an Ambush while bottomfeeding.

e: including 3 raw tpa, which I find comfortable for stealing

I think Niko summed it up. The only thing I would add is since you play in low organized KD having the max possible offence is not required so you can try playing with off specs(which are more NW efficient).

And you'll want Niko level tpa to gather intel and resist common core sabotage.

The history of my utopian life has been:

    1. We go UF with bigger kingdom and get ops.
    2. Ops force me to retaliate a kingdom I've otherwise no feelings toward.
    3. Enemy kingdom goes UF with us and there's no ops from us.
    4. ^ Emeny kingdom went UF vs me so I op and sabotage counter attack.
    5. Enemy attacker gets poor results oping me so recruits an elf.
    6. Enemy attacker gets poor results sabotaging me so recruits a halfer.
    7. Suddenly I'm a bigger enemy focus than our province that caused UF.
    8. My province gets razed and massacred.
    9. My kingdom mates sneak away with acres and honor, lol.

So I'm use to being the turd target, regardless of race or personality. But knowing these things make for knowing what's effective in most situations. Yes, about 1000 times.

I would have more homes and less banks.
    More homes means more population.
More homes means less of everything else (hence less jobs).
More homes means faster drafting (when you destroy the homes, your population will shrink, bumping up the %)
More homes means faster birth rates.

    5-6 peasants per acre
    5-6 dspecs per acre
    3 thieves per acre
    1 wiz per acre
    the rest goes to offense
