The warm smell of summer fruit hangs in the air in the distant corners of the world of legends. Battlements of great kingdoms are surrounded by leagues of corpses on all sides while the stench of the dead quickly overpowers any beauty that summer would normally bring. The dead have not risen, that is a good thing for the living, cultists gather for moon light ceremonies in secret ancient groves and pray to their dark gods. The rivers once filled with sweet water now run blood red, permanently stained by the chaos of war, the gods thirst for more and thrust all their believers to a never-ending battleground where only souls depart from.

The blood moon rises in the late months of fall, the winter is close and the cult of the undead perform their annual ritual to the lord of the dead in hopes that they will be blessed with his holy might. The fields scattered with small pockets of hooded figures chanting in an unknown language to a god from a time long forgotten in the world of legend. The snow starts to fall and the undead do not fear the cold like mortal men, winter is coming.

If the witch of winter was not bad enough herself - undead roam the forest and the corpses of the fallen refuse to stay still. After the ritual of the blood moon was performed in the fall the undead will rise all winter unless the cult of the dead is stopped! Trade routes have been cut back and alliances pushed to their breaking point as kingdoms fight for resources, land, and of course safe passage. With many of the armies on the front lines of battle little attention is paid to the coming darkness in the forest and the mountains. Great battlefields lay vacant, only blood and visceral remain. One can be certain that these bodies were not removed from the field of battle to be buried in peace with their fallen comrades. They now march in unison to the nearest kingdoms looking to bash down the gates and continue the never ending cycle.

Winter is upon us, are you ready?

The darkest of trails now hide even darker secrets in the world of legends. The race of men have united with the undead in a most unholy way and now are a scourge coursing across the land. Raiding Orcs have been spotted in the foothills and in the very same forests looting and pillaging anything they can find. The undead do not seem to bother the orcs as few casualties remain on those battlefields, orcs are very resilient compared to humans or elf so even for the undead they are not an easy foe. Echoes of dark chanting can be heard on the wind as if the air itself spoke the foul words.
