Give more trade codes?
Give more trade codes?
Its more they are just very careful with what they say. They don't give any time frame until they are 100% sure they can make it.
A lot of the stuff with bugs and trades going wrong would most likely have been solved (or at least dealt with quicker) if freeze time was not over the weekend. From what I understand there is no-one around who can really sort things out then
not really Fiskinator. I remember when I was in High School waiting for warcraft 3, and it was bumped back by something like 3 years.
Actually, I'm kinda confindent that Sean and Brian might be able to set this sinking ship back on course.
:-)
Putting the quality parameters aside, notice that OMAC bumped it by a month not a few years. If Sean and Brian really didn't care, as you say, they would have just released a buggy version of the recode now. I'm sure there will be bugs in the future, but at least they do their best to minimize them and get the recoded game to work.
lol, man, are you honestly saying this stuff with a straight face. They cannot even implement simple gameplay changes now. I know you can blame the old code, but its really not that many lines they have to debug for, and they still fail at it.
My point there was that when you show your product is worth waiting for, timeframe wont matter. Blizzard delivers quality, so people have no problems waiting for years. OMAC continually presents failure, so skepticism is warranted.
I don't think that they can't as much as they just don't. They work on the new code. Roisin is working on the old code.
I agree with that. I sure hope Sean and Brian won't disappoint. Since I still have some hope, I'm willing to give them the extra time they say they need without complaining about it.
Ok. Less derailment, more discussing another short age :)
Worst idea ever.
And mods: Isn't your job description to keep the forums clean, not hearting OMAC? I can't imagine you being so "understanding" of this nubbery before you got those shiny badges.
You see, there's two kinds of people in this world, my friend. Those with loaded guns... and those who dig.
You dig.
I don't think any of the mods <3 omac - we play the same game as you remember. What we do dislike though are posts that dont add anything, like blatant flaming and off topic crap (so i prolly shouldn't reply here :D)
anywho, back on topic
i was under no allusion that the age would be 4 months long, i expected recoding to run over a lot. Id rather continue the current age then start a new one.

the whole point of having a short age was because we expected it to be extended. rather than having one 6 month age, we can have an almost 3 month age like normal
<3
If we all were expecting the age to get extended.. why is everyone complaining ?
And to nip the coding thing in the but before it goes any further.
90% of game makers meet the the release dates that they set.. 90%.. well probably more, but you get the picture.. The reason that they do this is because of the amount of staff that they have working on the product. Square~Enix has on average 35 people working on each game they put out.. and these games are ALWAYS released on time, without any noticable bugs or flaws (if this wasnt the case then the final fantasy series wouldnt be the biggest RPG franchise in the world) Companies like Blizzard, who have about 7 people working on each game is a different story. They will push back a release time because they have so fewer people working on a project's development. Brian and Sean are 2 people, working on 1 project, give them a little bit more time.
But then they're not making anything close to FF, Warcraft or WoW. They're making a remake of Utopia, a very simple game. All I can say is, I really hope it is worth it. Fast loading, no GGI errors, trading etc. working more easily, no huge bugs, etc.
By the way, you "nip in the bud", not "in the but".
