Every single strategy is situational. There isn't a single strategy that is universally good.
I've seen them all, they tend to be bad arguments.
NW is so incredibly manipulateable. I get sent soldiers, now I get better gains on you because you had more nw than me.
The current gains curve is also dumb, because I can hit a smaller prov, and if he hits me back he'll often get less land that I got from him -- but that's aside from the point.
It really depends on what you are trying to achieve but you just can't blanket statement like that without some sort of qualifier. NWBG are better if you are trying to achieve some style of games while LBG are better for others.
If you want to debate NWBG vs. LBG (again) you should open a new thread for it. This thread is (mostly) about the decline of the player base and the causes for it.
As a moderator, you shouldn't have brought the discussion there.
However, NWBG are partially to blame for the decline of the player base, so I'm happy to inform you of why that is in this thread.
OMAC's horrible mismanagement is also a cause.
Yes, those two reasons were mentioned already. I think that's how the debate about LBG started. Still, it's not the place for it.
