Close! My undergraduate degree is Architecture, and grad schooling in Urban Planning and Design (I left school to join my wife in Alaska). To be called an Architect would require 3 years of apprenticeship, and another 3 passing licensing exams.
I just sketched it up my take on the airship to quickly try and visualize the layout. Much easier to point at something than try and describe it with utmost clarity - leaving something open for misinterpretation and contraditions (even if it's just to prevent myself from writing into a corner!).
If you guys have visualized the Requiem as something completely different than what I've sketched up, lets make some definitive decisions - I'll make necessary edits in my posts. I just want to make sure there's continuity for the story/setting, as well as not start elbowing my way in with design decisions.
Secretly I love the idea of a ballooned dirigible. There are opportunities for interaction within the envelope, as well as crew responsibilities with managing the air-bladders within. This decision also wouldn't relegate all airships to such a design. I've already hinted at smaller, faster personal craft.
