100 Thieves and 30% watchtowers??

I play in a pretty high ranked kingdom and my kingdom mates call me stupid for doing this but I think it works for me. As a pure attacker/mage (dark elf mystic) I run high 90opa and 3wpa on around 2200 acres. When we are not in war i will train thieves and get 1tpa and do 15% homes 15% TD's and steal runes for tree of gold. During war I will release all but 100 thieves and demolish homes and TD's and build 30% WT's. That way i'm protected from T/M's. going on the guide below:

i feel i'm pretty safe and protected. thoughts?
