    Faery already has -10 % pop .That % of homes can be off set with science.Gc isnt or shouldnt be a problem due to Tog and thieves .Has never been for me at any size province without them.

    Just making sure, but you are aware that that penalty does not effect homes?

    So assuming they are necessary on halflings (which they are) to put up proper military numbers... whats the target amount? 10% will do or are we talking something like 20% homes on a halfling?

    hopefully someone with the number crunching capabilities far beyond my own can solve the riddle

    Homes are a must when playing. Any race. A few ages back I played a dark elf pure mage just so I could shut the stupid f***s that say **** like that and also how pure mage can't be played any more. I was holding over 10rawwpa at all times and was trying to get up to 12rawwpa. It's was funny because other kingdom would come trying to pick a fight thinking their 6modwpa was enough but soon found out once they good land lusted that it wasn't. You could tell which guys where cheat those were the guys that were casting MS on me and then I would post in the public war forum that I had +10mod and then magicly all the spells and ops stopped. Now adays you don't have modwpa you have eff wpa. Meaning if you have 3rawwpa and 500% magic science and your target has 6rawwpa, yeah, your 3rawwpa with 500% eff is about 4rawwpa when vsing a 6rawwpa. That's some free info for all those so called superkingdoms that suck. Pretty much if it's a superkingdom that's just another way of saying supersuck.

    i appreciate all the feedback thankyou - vines you must kidding 10WPA? is that even possible?

    i was spoilt for choice and filled in the 'create an account' page three times over before settling on what i wanted and creating it.

    faery t/M in the ghettoist ghetto of all ghetto's - yet i see hope in the future, in the Kingom i have landed in there seems to be a wonderfully relaxed attitude with just the slightest hint of hope for great acheivments in the future.

    thankyou for the advice, i am running 12% homes at the moment

    You only need homes to help your econ if you don't have KD mates to help you out with aid during the hard times. So i'd say unless the Faery is helping support KD they do not need homes. Halflings may find it more useful in war times to put the 10% which could be in homes into hospitals. It's hard to say without knowing the structure of the kingdom though.

    As an elf you should not have homes imo.

    Yeah 10rawwpa is very doable. That province I was talking had over 10wpa. That is the main reason feary have -10% population to make it hard to get to 11rawwpa. Once you get past 10wpa others can't touch you. The thing is if you are going to play pure mage you need a kingdom that can get you into war and sit back and let you land lust the opponent. When I played a dark elf pure mage the last war we went to I got over 1k land on just land lust. That's as good as any attacker can do but you have to have very high wpa if you want to cast land lust not worry about it failing. This think you going up against a so called mage with 6wpa and you are able to keep MS on him 24/7 now that wannabe mage is going to be mad and will get attacked sooner enough and lose all his honor. At the time when I played this pure mage dark elf, dark elf did not use runes that was too powerfull. Now all races use runes.

    7-8% Farms
    20% Guilds
    20-25% TDs
    15% Towers
    10-15% Banks
    10-15% Schools (convert to Libraries before war, after you have some good science of course)
    10% homes
    (if you take the high ranges or low ranges and add them up, then the total won't be 100, I know. They're ranges for a reason :P)

    just a note that it takes ~12% pop science to null the -10%. Not that much of a difference just thought id add that!

    I run homes, 10% mainly for birth rate and a little extra pez action.
