why should greed effect me then when it says * Immunity to all Income Penalties (Riots, Plagues, etc.) whereas greed is affecting my income or are you saying it is affecting my expenses hence why greed still affects me?

The best way to look at the merch income penalty immunity is to think of it as a "revenue" penalty immunity. Expenses such as draft and wages still can be modified because merchant only protect their revenues.

that sounds monetary to me, and merchant should be immune from all monetary penalties. trying to split hairs between income and revenue and expense is missing the point of what merchant should be. not to mention everyone is already pulling their hair out when it comes to determining which spells/ops are "offensive" or not

Net Income = Revenues (aka Gross Income) - Expenses
    basic accounting principles.

What are you talking about on the spells/ops? All ops are offensive and all defensive and offensive spells are separated onto different pages. It's really very simple.
