DHaran, I've seen you personally insult and be VERY condescending to people. His whole point was just because you have a moderator button does not make it right. You should be setting a better example being in a position of moderator. Again. You proved his point. Also, it was pertaining to something YOU posted so how could it be off topic for him and not for you?

I did not insult anyone. This is not a discussion about moderation either, those issues can be sent to any of the mods. I am informing someone of a breach in the rules, that is not an invitation to open a discussion about it.

I am going to say this once more and once more only:

STAY ON TOPIC. Any further posting not about the new anti-cheat system will just get deleted, and if you continue to post unrelated issues I will have to do more.

Just wondering if any bugs have been worked out in the anti cheating thing? I'm talking about still being able to send aid even though it tell you that it is blocked the aid does go though.

also have there been any up date on the time frame of not being able to attack?

The aid problem was fixed as far as I know. The time frame is currently 3 days, and I believe the devs are still gathering data and suggestions on how to improve it without damaging the cheat prevention aspect.

EDIT: See below post regarding the aid fix.

The only "fix" that would fix the anti cheating this is to scrap the whole program since it wont fix anything. There are smarter people than the developers that will still find a way to cheat.

This has been said probably a dozen times in this thread, but in 30 pages of arguing a lot gets lost:

The majority of cheaters suck at it, they were manually getting caught and deleted, eating up support's time. This new system stops a large number of cheaters (proactive rather than reactive mind you), most of which won't bother with the effort it takes to evade cheat detection altogether and simply stop using farms and multis, or logging their kdmates. Support will have more time to spend targeting the minority of cheaters who are better at evasion, which mostly still needs some manual investigation to weed out and get rid of.

Well then with all this free time the devs are getting from this wonderful new program why can't they keep the white list instead of worrying about the .0005% that will still beat the devs at cheating unless you are telling me that the devs are smarter than ANYONE playing this game.

There is no way to authenticate or maintain the whitelist efficiently.

Are you seriously telling me that these devs who are SO intelligent to come up with a fix for cheating cant come up with a way to verify something?
I'm appalled because that means, they aren't actually verifying someone IS cheating.

This was never about the whitelist, they KNOW there is same IP cheating, and they put a system in place to help stop it. The whitelist was a casualty. Additionally, there is no possible way to verify no cheating is happening by whitelisters, so why leave something in place that welcomes abuse? I think Bishop shares my feelings on this matter, that it should have never been allowed to begin with.

I'm sure there is but that would actually take some effort on the devs part and actually make some people happy.

That is during the last 30 days, how many are out there overall? Or is that the number of people that are whitelisted and active? Also seems odd that you would have an odd number of accounts since the program was for two people...

That would be total users on the whitelist = ~4.7% of the player base. It's an odd number, most likely, because at least one of the pairs of accounts on the list had one account go inactive and therefore would not have been counted in that 30 day period.
Retired at one time but no longer retired.

Are you assuming that is the total number of people on the white list? If so almost 5% of the players are on it which seems like a fair amount of people you would want to try and do something for.

As much as you guys think you know, you do not have any insight into the cheating we deal with on a day to day basis. This mechanic will massively reduce our workload. A workload that stops the game from growing as we devote too much time to it.

Why would we care if you use your neighbours wireless?
Well obviously Bishop because another account can be created to cheat with, and the whole thrust of an 'anti cheating mechanism' is that it stops cheating, no?

This whole thing leaves a very bad taste in my mouth, although I'm not personally affected. I do know two sets of two people who this will affect.

First invites are legitimised - supposedly so that people can invite their friends in and fill their kingdoms was the label on the tin - hence the whitelisting. The invite system was not at all supposedly so that the top kingdoms can stop their rampant cheating and avoid deletions, as a lot of people thought at the time.

Then the whitelisting was withdrawn - severely hampering friends and partners who don't happen to live or work separately - thus negating the initial reasoning for the invite system. Not at all of course because there was a scripted wave on some top kingdom's bank?

The real cheaters have far more sophisticated ways to cheat the system that logging two provs. Two provs aren't enough for the cheaters. And frankly if a friend or partner cross logged for the other once in a while or even all the time that's hardly earthshaking. Certainly not compared to the massive cheating at the top - except the invite rules were changed to ensure that was no longer categorised as cheating. Even the mass scripted attacks are probably by an ex or current top player, as the level of knowledge and sheer dedication to 'winning' points to that.

So...from here it looks like....well,suck it up if this affects you, cos you aren't in an upper kingdom, who are either extremely active or use VPNs.

That translates to ....couples or friends, give it up, go find another game, would be easier. You're banging your head against a brick wall here. Don't forget that the chances are also that you will be detected as a multi at some point now that the whitelisting has gone, so it starts with 'unable to interact' and ends with 'deleted'. Shame about the mid levels and ghettos that will now lose players because this is all now too much stress and hassle. Anyone in those mid level and upper ghetto ranks knows that inviting friends etc has been the only way to get new players. Shame they'll likely go back to being threequarter or two thirds full.

This strategy is not scalable for the simple fact that unless the devs find a way of magicking players out of thin air via a huge campaign, that there won't be any need in fact to scale because the player base will shrink further rather than grow. Blimey the number of players even when it first moved to Omac now seem like glory days compared to now. And we're going to lose more with this change.

Hey but that doesn't matter because the upper kingdoms are ok,right?
