    FoK is not working?

I didn't get to use this spell for many ages now, so maybe I'm getting something wrong here, but I don't get +10% science books per hour after casting the spell. I checked how much I should have gotten without the spell, and after the tick I saw that's what I got, no additional books.

How many did you get and how many were you supposed to get?

I'm a sage at 405 acres. Set research to limited. So I should get 101 books from personality and 162 from research rate. I got 263 after casting FoK. I should have gotten either 279 (if sage books don't get +10%) or 289.

You cant choose freely where to allocate those books that you get from FoK, say you put 100 sci points in income, you get 110 sci points in the end.

Okay... so I should look at the book count in the studied books vs. what I ordered to study. I'll check it soon

Try searching for posts from me. I explained in detail how it worked. I would look, but I dont have the time atm. Sorry

Edit, OK I made the time ;)

FOK is really simple. Here is how it works after a lot of testing last age. To get any benefit you need to cast first cast Fok, THEN you put books to be allocated into the catagory you want to be learned in multiples of 10 learned per day. Hence if you are a non sage you put it in in multpiles of 240. If you are a sage, multiples of 170.
Fok is not retroactive. So if you put in 9 books to be learned 1 day, and add 1 more book, it does not count. Also if you have 19 books in it rounds to 10, so only a 1 book bonus.
You also do not ever see the bonus put in, it is automatically applied to your total.

Confirmed it works. so this means a sagr this age needs to allocate in multiplies of 19, right?

I can confirm FoK works as intended.

@lmtdconv92, Sage research speed boost has been nerfed a little. You'll need to use different numbers now
@tola, multiples of 190 probably. (could be 200 depending on how rounding is done)

Look at your science adviser after assigning science. That will tell you the total duration to learn new books. You could try 3800 books to see the duration without risking potential free books

Hmmm I think I need you to back up a bit, if ur willing. I have no clue what you are actually talking about... But I would like to make sure as a sage with FoK on that I am not "losing books" I could have recieved from fok. So what's the math I guess is what I'm asking. Is there a set amount that I should be allocating in order to make it round up? Etc.

It takes either 19 or 20 days to learn the books you invest and you get 1 point extra for each 10 books that finish being learned as long as FoK is active. so 19 x 20 x 10 = 3800 books. That way you're guaranteed maximum efficiency until you figure out if the time to learn books is 19 or 20. Extra books from FoK are always rounded down. So if 9 books finish being learned, your 0.9 book bonus from FoK would be rounded down to 0.

So for ideal efficiency you would want to be learning exactly 10 books a day, which would bump you up to 11. (small numbers used of course). Or having increments of 10, I should say. 20 --> 22? But 28 or 29 would still just add +2? 30 --> 33 etc.

    Am I thinking correctly?

Yes you are correct. To make the most of FoK, you need to learn every day in multiples of 10, so for a non sage, that means you put the books in in multiples of 240.

I made that post a couple of ages ago, when I ran elf mystic. At that time the sage bonus was -30% Research Time so it came in 17 days. 24*.7=16.8 rounded to 17.

The bonus is now -20% Research Time. 24*.8=19.2, so it will round to 19.

So you need to put your research into learning, in multiples of 190, so 10 books a day are learned, which gets you 1 free book.

If you put in 11-19 books a day, you will still only get 1 free book. 2 books at 20 per day, etc.

    Hope this helps.

You also never "see" the free books on the research advisor. It is added automatically when it comes in. It is also not retroactive. You cannot have 9 books coming in each day, then add enough to have over 10 books. It only recognizes it when you put it into learning.
