Thats easy. Lets say you have a large province that is breakable but is more than 150%+ NW of all the enemy attackers. You don't want to slay to drop it into 120% NW range because then the enemy gets much better gains on it. It is just a method of exploiting the gains formula. So, since its out of range it has more spell resistance/gains resistance etc and you can use it to start building up peasants and econ. thats just one off the top of my head.

"while I heart shiester when we both play serious and are in the same kingdom, I hate shiester on the forums and pretty much disagree with everything he says. Even he knows this." - Flogger asking me out on a date
The devs have made a decision to kill competitive utopia and have thereby killed my interest with it.
Dragons are an important part of wars. There is many reasons to kill fast or wait for a set time. All those reasons are situational.
Some example to keep drake on:
-Some key prov will get deep chain real soon and you want them to give their troops to the drake more then aid them as soldiers to other provs.
-You have a saphyr on your kd and they have an other pointed on you. you know that the moment you kill that saphyr, an other one will rage on your land. so you decide to wait on a key moment where all your tms will Ops and you kill the drake right before hoping for a little window of dragon free to use it to your advantage.
-Some key prov, if they give their share number of specs/leets to the drake would become vulnerable to getting hit down and you want to prevent that.
Reasons to kill a drake real fast are obvious.
Congrats Shinra for WW. GJ starting smaller and wave them in fort stance.
AnGry is really pro!

Unique count difference is partially bc last 48 hours they had all their tms sending out each wave and partially bc we had some slackers last 48 hours.
About 5 hours before they WDed our 3 faery rogues made 800, 700, and 500 acre land grabs on one of their big humans which could have potentially been the reason the WD came.
Thanks for the war simians/anri, time for some sleep

gz shinra, must be a well-fought one..
a question about the war since i wasnt watching because of our current war - were shinra tms were ub at start or did simians choose not to hit them?
We knew war was probably lost 24h into it when t/ms got broken and we lacked off to break Shinras t/ms. We were also underperforming from many different aspects. Allround we did a bad war and Shinra was just better prepped and organized then us. Biggest blow for us was inactive rouges that made us lose 48h or so of pure aw on Shinras elfs. Original plan was to aw elfs n hit down rouges. Overall attackers did pretty good thou. We went down in land hostile like we knew we would a bit. Overall we just held out a bit longer to give Shinra a better show. Sadly we could not perform well enough to keep war going. But we had fun warring Shinra. GG you deserved to win. We see no shame in losing and its all about the fun of warring strong opponent. Thanks Shinra for the fight.
Can post our summary later today when i get off work

So sad to too see anri lost this good war. But im happy with ben' sarcasm. It lights up the thread. =)
UD's not being able to train leets really hampered their power this age; I think this was one of the most important factors leading to Simians defeat. Our orcs had more epa from start to finish. Conversions simply couldn't keep up with losses, desertions, ops etc.
There is much shame, considering the fact that you were bigger in acres and had more time to prep. But then again who cares if Anri feels shameful or not.
Utopians probably amazed that Shinra had the balls to wave someone who is 20% bigger than them, and furthermore, willing to do a full wave into fort and give the button early on. Kudos to Shinra.
So next time, Anri & Co. keep your nub mouths shut on irc and just accept the defeat gracefully and don't go insulting and spreading lies to others that Simians lost to Shinra because Shinra made some deal with top kingdoms to bankroll millions of gold in exchange for land after the war is over.
Once again, kudos to a game well played Shinra, despite whatever Anri says about you guys cheated early on.
From my perspective it's the mysterious mechanics of undead this age; if I don't know how it works I'm not confident using it, and I've run undead a lot. I don't have a bad opinion about the race, just finding it's exact role in the attacker ranks is elusive. It's not a breaker like orcs, but it's durable. I've concocted most of my cheap tricks playing undead. Not being able to reach a given offensive mark without conservative estimation I'd imagine is tough. I play in a different field where this isn't as crucial.
I feel for Simians with the inactivity at rogue. Just as orcs are offensive breakers it's tough to win without the weight of reliable sabotage against a quality opponent. The synergy lost here with undead, who have no cover, is crippling. When I look at race it's the three: Elf, Halfer and Orc who are the deep hitters. In Shinras case they had 2 aspects and in Simians, by virtue of inactivity, had none.
Congratulations Shinra. You exhibited great war prowess in this one. I'm generally aware you guys don't make many mistakes. If you do you keep it quiet.
Good luck to both sides next age and witnessing a good war is always appreciated. Thank you.
love that thick mahogany back with no belly carve or anything...pure thick wood ! The thing ROCK is made of !
