Hi,

To answer your initial question, Flogger, do we consider it appropriate to raze into EOW for a CF? No. We discussed it because we felt like what BB did (explore +50% of your KD's acres) significantly takes advantage of the EOWCF period, but ultimately decided against it due to the unwritten rule of not hitting into EOWCF.

Before any of the threats/razing happened, Flogger and I had a good talk that I initiated about CFing because of the aforementioned exploring. I asked for a long one, Flogger responded with an offer of a short one, and then said he'd run it by the rest of the leadership to see what they thought. At this point, it seemed like flogger was negotiating in good faith and that we'd have an agreement by the morning about the actual length (likely somewhere in between what we both started out with, which would have been fine). Knowing this, we mentioned to bourreau that it seemed very likely we would CF, and since he had the #1 prov that BB just explored 3 people in range of, bourreau might want to try and get a CF from them as well. Then I went to sleep.

After bourreau razed BB, they were still on 15% draft with their whole gc stockpiles. He offered to give all the razed land back, plus gc for retraining to protector, which would've actually helped BB's position vs Emeriti, but was told a flat-out no because BB wanted to kill him instead and make an example out of him. BB chose to train up early, and now says they were "forced" into a CF with Emeriti.

Since when is exploring from 22*** to 32*** in eowcf 50%+ and why would we not be allowed to do it? Or anyine else for that matter?
Furthermore, even if we would have gotten the land back, we would have lost a lot of time.
Also, declining that offer was more of a principle thing. Do you really want this to happen to you in the future? By allowing this crap you set a precedent for the future.

The issue with collective action in uto is that it needs a broad support base. BB didn't act when kds were hitting into active, real wars. I'd say that's much worse than getting hit in EOW (at least, I'd rather get hit into EOW than have a war become a 2v1). So it's hard to say why they would expect other kds to help them in this situation - not to say that I think it's appropriate to hit into EOW.

People rarely act to help others outside of their own self interest, though.

Also, why is it okay for you to explore 10k acres and not okay for us? Because someone waved us? There is no eow advantage. It costs 5x as much and they created fortified which has stronger bonuses.
