Hey Gurch, you really do sound like you miss some of the old Uber kingdoms that used to rule the charts. I feel bad for you. There are still some amazing kingdoms in this game. I know, because we are still trying to figure out how to beat them. Our kingdom is only 4 ages old, and we have brought back a lot of old players to the game. Some of them used to belong to those Uber Kingdoms you miss so much, and they have taught us how to win wars. Also going up against kingdoms like Divinity, Seagulls, and others have taught us many things we use in war today. Heck, our war with Ascension is only 12 hours old and they have already taught us where our weaknesses are and what we need to get better at the rest of the age.
My point is do not minimize the "skill level" of the people on the top of the charts now, because they are awesome players who built great kingdoms. Instead, bring the kingdom you built and take on the Warriors. We look forward to learning from such an Uber player as yourself, and we will do our best to earn your respect. P&L brother!

They've recently had to get their ex-monarch back to run the war for them since their current monarch made such a mess of it ;)
What mess? From the outside things look mostly even, with a slight edge to spartans.
They started off by chaining TMs. Those chains move slower, which means you pushed more damage through in the beginning of the war, but that doesn't mean you had some massive advantage.
