Zauper dropped some jewels in his post.......not all core is created equal. Thou shall never give pool to weak players. That being said, I like molding the hyper actives and making them see utopia differently rather than dealing with the egos of vets.

There are plenty of war kd players who are absolutely high quality and would be great core players, given instruction and teaching on how to prep, how to whore, etc. However, as a leader, I would rather have a core where I don't have to worry about more than a small subset of players where I've explicitly decided to accept the risk of needing to micromanage them. We take in war kd players all the time when we need fresh blood -- they're some of the most active players, which is great. But they're not the kind of player you'd trust in their first age with a meaningful role.

Some kds (like pandas) like to have their races split and specific players for every kind of core role. CR generally prefers to have as close to uniform-race cores (or duo-form with a hybrid + a hitter) as possible. Particularly when running a uniform core, you want to be able to double the player that is performing the best, without wondering whether that player will be a competent calf now that you've put them up -- because that's what gets you the best outcomes. If Meep is your largest core prov, you want to be able to turn them into a calf (less pool used than doing someone smaller) without wondering if Meep will be able to pump effectively. The more you dillute the talent pool of your kd with unknown entities, the more risk you take if you do that.

For a leader in most kds, you don't want to take on unnecessary risk, and ultimately that's what bringing in random war kd players means unless you've already established a relationship (or they have relationships with folks already in kd) and you're confident of their ability to get on level.

e: fair point PC. I do feel like it's a little more interchangeable in war tier, but you're right that the number of 'just follow orders' core is still not like 20 players.

This is why CR has been a home to guys like Benjamin and NickMi. Their slacktivity is made up by understanding the switch in a strat or the ability t play multiple roles in a pinch.

You can find a rare gem from the warring tier but that skill set only gets them so far and they have to put more work in to grasp what is going on around them. Most like take 1-2 full ages to see a majority of the plays and angels that can be made in situations and even then knowing when to use and apply said idea is a new ball game.

I was told Bart had to teach you some plays and "angels" during his very brief stint with CR, discuss.

Im a special case 2Utopian. Due to my high IQ and feeling for social interaction Ive been able to learn in 3-4 ages what most spent a lifetime on learning. Squee is a good player but the prov I took over was in a bad shape. During my 1.5 weeks in giraffes I whored twice as much honor as the 2nd best. Anyways, playing a prov is fairly easy compared to leading a KD!

On topic: We opened the war by sending our Emerald Dragon and then chaining their 3 highest offense core provs and 3x massacres on a T/M. Spartans sent their Emerald dragon almost immediately after declare.

Spartan armies are returning soon, we should see a response wave shortly! Stay tuned folks!

See bart's reply for their setup. 42 is running warriors on orcs and avians. Undead are tacts. Faes are mysic or rogue. That should be accurate, I honestly don't really look at our personalities. Lol

1 the prov you took over i sat for less than 24 hours and I was put into one of the Elf WH which as Zauper has already explained they don't put a prov such as those onto just anyone.

    2. you didn't even make it a week let alone 1.5. We raze killed a portion of your kingdom you came there you talked a bunch of crap and went back to the spartans who took you back because they blindly follow you. That whoring 2x the honor remark is funny since you made maybe 4 hits max before leaving and were in 0 wars or real hostiles that age.

    3. I will say the position spartans has been in for the past 2 ages has little to do with Bart's knowledge and more to do with Octo's.

    4. The fact you couldn't figure out the fae ToGed then blamed it on trolling shows you still lack the concept of true prep and why you flamed out in a week in your stint.

    5. what you also failed to mention was in your time in CR you made some diplomatic relations that resulted in land for gold trades to fund a majority of the conflicts you had in the war tier.

I could go on but I really don't need to. You have a vivid imagination.

I think the only kd in the top back then that used to do homes pump for wars was HoH... yeh... we all knew how that ended up. HoH loved farming out every age.
