1.1 Million jobs are directly supported by trade with mexico. Mexico can just trade with another country. China is the prime candidate and China is interested. The Asian markets are huge.
China also produces crap cheap. So next we tariff them. How many million more jobs is this? And on and on it goes till we have trade wars everywhere. American exports get hammered in response. How many more jobs is this?
Do you know America has tried this before? What happened was American companies price gouged Americans because of the lack of competition.
I am all for buying American goods. But lets not pretend that American corporations give 2 ****s about us either.
The crazy part is more jobs are lost to automation than anything else and THAT is going to continue reguardless.
Trump has promised to put tariffs on China if they don't stop devaluing there currency. So yeah there will be tariffs put on China. Trump is not your average bought and paid for politician like a Bush or Clinton. He really doesn't care what corporations want. He cares about the good of the USA over all else. It's about Damned time we had a president that gave a damn about actual USA citizens. Refreshing and gives me hope for my son's growing up in this country.

Oh of course. It obvious. He exited 1 trade deal and has negotiated nothing else. The thing was never ratified and was never enacted in the 1st place.
The man has no track record of understanding economics other than how to scam, bankrupt and inflate his actual wealth then hide the evidence. Great, so he know how to not pay his taxes. I'll give him that.
He's the closest thing to a man baby that has ever been elected yet alone a full blown narcissistic who can control the damage he does with his idiotic tweeting.
Just because he is independent it doesn't mean it's a good thing to put a nut job in the white house.
He's already failed on American's not paying for the wall and he's already failed on his travel ban. Screaming like a baby dictator that doesn't understand that being the president doesn't mean you get whatever you want.

Again. Show me anything in Trumps past that shows he gives a damn about American workers.
He has a long track record of not giving a damn about American workers.

Did he really fail on the travel ban or did he shift the blame to all terrorist attacks from now on to Democrats. Your looking at it from one point of view without looking at the big picture. You apparently have never read art of the deal. ;) the temporary ban will be put in place, just like Obama's ban on Syrian refuges. No one cared when the Democrat did it but it's the end of the world when Trump does it. Hypocrisy is deep In the USA.

How does allowing all factories go to.China help the American worker? Tariffs are the only way to protect American workers.

Not answering the question still. But I'll play along and answer.
Less dollars spent out of pocket. Isn't it American companies that say if you increase the minimum wage you increase the cost of the product? Same thing applies. Sure we may make more but our dollars will not go as far. There is a give and take there.
A Apple Orchard here in Eastern Washington tried to get non immigrants to pick Apples for $15 a hour. No takers. Only immigrant labor applied. How much are you willing to pay for a Apple?
No. That's Bull****. Only Americans choosing to buy American products is going to protect American workers. American corporations are just going to automate your job out quicker to reduce costs and price gouge you from the lack of competition.

I live in a farming community, they don't pay 15 dollars an hour. They pay 3.50 to 5 dollars an hour. They also are multimillionaires who abuse illegal immigrants to make money. Also if you live in Washington State there is no hope for Swirvin'Birds. Sadly the people in that State live in a bubble and are brain washed. FYI I lived there for a few years. Lol

My mistake, $15 a bin. About $120 a day. Which equates to $15 a hour. No takers. THAT's the point. Here's the link. Yes it's NPR but even your friend FOX news cover the same story. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/s...ryId=130840422
How much do you want to pay for Apples?
Lol. We live in a bubble? What farm state do you live in? We subsidize you farmers in taxes and then pay you again for the product. Then the farmer hires illegals to reduce costs even more. All of this to keep food afordable. Not to mention cheap enough for us to export it across the globe.
We have a more diverse culture out here and are exposed to outside cultures way more than any rust belt state. Our economy booms while yours busts.
Brainwashed? By what? Careing for our environment?
The Federal Minimum is $7.25 an hour. How many Americans you see applying for those jobs?
This is another thing that kills me... We protect our enviornment with regulations and our economy booms. Most red states with less environmental regulations have economies that are weak in comparrison if not downright horrible. It's not environmentalists screwing you over. It's your reliance on 'old technologies' like fossil fuel extraction and your damning of green enegy that creates new high tech jobs and pushes the economies into the future.

Washington State is a major port for shipping and receiving goods. It also has one of the largest military bases in the USA. Hence Washington in certain areas have extremely good economy. It has nothing to do with clean energy or any other tree hugging attitudes. Actually most of the State runs negative every year budget wise. Even had to start doing away with pensions due to shortage of money. Living in Washington is very expensive and is extremely taxed. I moved away due to the cost of living being so high. Washington is entering a death spiral, kinda like Detroit/Michigan. It will definitely be intresting to watch to see how many years before Washington becomes the next Michigan.

Art of the Deal? You mean that book written by a ghostwriter by the name of Tony Schwartz who is pissed Trump claims he wrote it. He even goes on to say he put lipstick on a pig in that book. My god you buy Trumps B.S. hook line and sinker every time. Lol
And your not looking at this from 1 point of view? Laughable.

I never said because of evironmental regulations. Read again.
That can be said of nearly every state. Washington ranks 24th in the nation when it comes to negative budgets. Smack dab square in the middle. Seriously, you need to actualy take the time to look **** up before you post B.S.
Yea, Microsoft, Amazon, Starbucks etc etc etc success is because of Fort Lewis and Asian shipping.
You don't know crap about this state and your showing it.
Forbes ranked Washington state as the #2 economy in the U.S. in 2016. If thats a death spiral then please god give me more. Lol
The state ranks 9th in population growth and Bellingham was ranked in the top 25 for places to retire by Forbes.
No publication in America showers the state of Washington, and its cities, with more honors than the conservative Forbes Magazine.

Factory in Mexico employees 1000 people cost 7 dollars to produce the shirt and 3 dollars to ship each shirt. They sell this shirt for 14 dollars. Where there competition made in America produces and ships the same shirt for 11 dollars a shirt. Sells each shirt for 15 dollars. Well in this case Mexico plant wins, but add a 20% tariff. You end up Mexico 16.80$ while American brand is 15.00$. Mexico plant goes under and American plant doubles in size from 1k employees to 2k employees. Now for every manufacturering job in the USA it actually creates service related jobs. Such as nurses, waitresses or mechanics to name a few. So that 1k job creation actually creates anywhere from 500 to 2k service jobs. It's pretty simple honestly and is common sense. :)
I know you are just giving an example, but your numbers are mental.

No one will buy your expensive american tshirts at 15 dollars. Mexico will produce and ship them for 1 dollar a shirt, not 14. If mexico will not then india will, for 10 cent a shirt. You cannot compete with labour markets that can undercut you so severely, nor should you. People don't suddenly just have money to spend on expensive clothes because thats all you allow into the country. If you want to compete with countries that pay their workers pennies, you need to do the same to your workers - and you don't want to get into that race.

Nothing of what you have posted is common sense, its a complete disengagement with reality.

Are we having a state "my **** is bigger than your's" contest? I'm from Mass, and the very high level of education is very powerful around here. (Fun tidbit - last I checked, the "128-495 tech corridor" was nearly on par with silicon valley. Just not as wildly overvalued - cause our strong finance sector kicks those dumb pie in the sky business plans right out.) Cause on a serious note - only high-school education correlates to republican, while educated correlates to democratic. (Uh... can someone fact check that actually?) And education level strongly correlates to state wealth. (While high wealth has historically correlated with republican... huh - like an Escher that.)

I am fairly sure that, if you line blue vs. red states up, the red states receive more from the federal gov than they pay in via taxes, while the blues run the other way around. So pointing at military bases really doesn't help argue an R narrative... cause the ugly underbelly has a lot more of that than Washington (or Mass) gets. Now, if you want to do that math per capita instead, I don't know where it lands... but that's sure sounding like basic income (except totally stupid) to me. (Totally stupid cause that's how gov works. Gotta deceive those idiots that they've earned those welfare payments or something so they can live with themselves.)

No claim I'm a saint on that (the idea I've "earned it") either - I just do my best to not be a hypocrite when I'm living the good life cause I'm lucky how I was born. I've no real right to my lifestyle while so much of the world is just fighting to get by. But since I don't see them, I can pretend they are "less" than me, and so everything is ok. If you give me the choice of sacrificing myself to save 10 random Indians or Africans no-ones ever heard of... I'm pretty sure I'm cool with letting 10 people die via inaction to save my own skin. I'll probably need to start seeing my therapist again though.

What I *am* is tired of pretending that honesty doesn't put me ahead of you. It does, and you won't admit it by definition. So have fun, I'm just killing time after killing my bottle of wine. A slow but very sharp mind here - 33 years, I'm ready to make some bald statements of truth, and if you can't keep up with me, **** off and get out of my way.
it's vs. its is ambiguous - from now on I'm attempting to use the proper possessive it's, and the contraction 'tis. (Its will just be the plural.)
