    Yeah you're a ****ing idiot.
That is why I didnt mention strictly being pay to play, most people buy credits every age to set sitting. If you pay $5 to play, and also get $5 worth of sitting credits, it ensures a steady cash injection to the game, while also giving sitting credits to people anyway, encouraging them to use the extra features the game uses.

Most people's arguments that I'm reading are about ways to improve the game, and things they want done for improvements. Improvements take time and money to accomplish. The vast majority of people left in this game are not people that would shy away at giving a lot of their time and some of their money to this game.

People donate to munk because he keeps implementing useful things into his tools.. People don't shy away from giving him money to enhance their experience.

It really depends what demographic they want to aim for.. most of us started playing in junior high and high school, so at the time free to play made sense. But now, most of the main player base has jobs and disposable income. I'm sure they would be OK giving some of that away if they knew it would really help enhance their experience, like the production of a good usable app etc.

I don't know what FS has done to you in the past, but i don't appreciate the attitude. We are adults here.

I want you to read the first part of this post. Then I want to know why you made it.

You aren't saying it should be just pay2play, just that we have to pay $10 to play.

I've presented the game to couple of r/l friendds who play tons of online games and none of them dound it even remotely attractive. They all asked me "so..whre are the buildings? And the troops? "..and when i told em those are just numbers and letters, they said pass. The game itself is unique and the math behind it its so complex that a new player has litterally no chance of grasping it. If you makr a quick comparison between utopia and any other online game you will see some big diffrences that give utopia a disadvantage. For instance in any crappy game like empires or w/e in 16-24 h u can build a fairly decent province, whereas in utopia it takes 12-16h for builds to get in while in the other games u have the 1st builds on in minutes. Also armies..it takes between 8 to 16h to have em back which is soooo much more than the new graphics games. We all love utopia..but all is 99% old players who are still around cuz of old time friends. The genesis server will also be used especially by veterans to try crazy new strats and not the newbies who have no clue wtf those are. Unless utopia receives a complete overhauling..its doomed.
Utopia's strength is its complexity imo. Breaking the initial barrier and introducing the game mechanics and strategies to new users is an issue, lack of graphics isnt.
I am not saying there are no ui improvements possible that would help breach initial barrier that would include shiny grahical solutions. I am simply stating dumbing the game to meet current standards is not solution.

No ofc not. I didnt mean to change how utopia works. Utopia is a unique game where you constantly learn things.Just make it more visually attractive to new guys enough to hook em or make em interested in finding more about utopia.

I'm not sure if anyone here is familiar with some of our competitors, but they seem to have some UI improvements we could benefit from. Something to look into.

But why don't you start a thread regarding the community, the atmosphere there of, and new players.

I'm not sure if your familiar with the idea of bypassing word filters or with the idea of trying to leech out the player base to an obvious knockoff competitor, but I'd be happy to bring you up to speed.

    Don't.
