Do know 1 guy I know has no Rev and no labs all age, similar-ish fort cycles, and has now 5 scientists more than I do :D
So I guess the 6 scientists I got the first 19 hours of protection on this little ghetto prov I made is pretty good?

Umm Don't labs have a 30% max increase? so you only need about 6-7%. So all of those people running 20-30% labs are shooting themselves in the foot.
No. 95% max increase. Apparently there are 2 pages about labs in the guide - one is right, one is wrong.

I have had labs this age with 95% increase shown in game and then have razed a few and found still 95% increase (because I had too many given the 95% limit).
I have an issue with labs too. I have some numbers too. In 13 days where i didnt have lab i got 31 scientist, 2.4 per day on average. I am non sage and i dont have revelation so thats regular spawn. We werent in fort as well in any of that period. 2 days i got only 1 scientist, 6 days got 2, 3 days got 3 and 2 days got 4. Then i built 20% labs and it is giving me 63% bonus to production. Yesterday i got only 2 scientists and today in first 14 hours got only 1. Now its still too early to tell but i will report in 2 days to see if anything changes. You might say why post now. Well for some funny reason whenever i whine about something the lord of random number generator takes pity on me and things improve. :)

Odd. Ran high labs and Rev for days on end. averaged about 2-3/24 hours.
Not gonna run labs anymore nao.
How are these scientist names being generated? Just random vowels and consonants thrown together?
I was just lucky. Technically labs just cut down the worst case max time before you get a new scientist. Assuming worst case lets say you have a 4% chance to spawn a scientist initially, every tick we get +1% chance. In theory i could have to wait until the end of day 4 before i spawn a scientist, with max labs that's cut until the end of day 2. Obviously this scenario is highly unlikely but it could hapen.
In reality max labs almost double your spawn. You will still see peaks and troughs but over a longer period a prov with max labs will have double that of one without.
