The king thinks its a fine idea to call a ns target when we're like half halfling at which point he puts our power to trash. What is the formula for gangbang protection from NS?

Ops don't reward any significant amount of gbp. Also gbp is capped at 15% in war, which is pretty small.
It's pretty normal to designate individual targets for your thieves and mages to work down (unless I'm misunderstanding the OP)
Im talking about your first hit doing as much as 4x damage as last.
Mass focusecd Nightstriking is a common thing ... if you have issues with your Monarch then try talking the matter through with her/him ... otherwise i suggest leaving so your strategic creativity is not stifled by a stranger somewhere in the world...

Out of war, I believe there is a form of ops gbp that kicks in and reduces gains by 50%. Someone else might be able to provide better details on this.
The most likely reason that you saw ns gains drop is due to the soldiers like Palem said and also because with your whole kingdom opping him, he probably lost a lot of troops and max gains are based on the number of troops the target has.
To clear up some misunderstandings in this thread:
1. GBP is capped at 20%, not 15% (unless this was changed this age).Ops don't reward any significant amount of gbp. Also gbp is capped at 15% in war, which is pretty small.
2. I've never noticed any GBP on any op bar Kidnappings (it will significantly drop off after you reach a certain point). In other words, with "not any significant amount", Palem means none.
3. NS is a very effective op, mostly because it's a very damaging thievery op that has high success rate and is relatively effective when opping OOR.

See the part about NS for more detailed formula's.
Thanks for the corrections. I believe both kidnappings and fireball suffer from a form of gbp that causes the damage to drop to 50%.
doing consecutively ops will generate gbp ... however slight it is, but the gbp reduction will not be as severe as land gbp ...
There is no gbp on ops. You are doing less dmg because target's troops are getting less.
13% soliders, 0.55% specs, 0.3% elites. You wouldn't keep getting the same numbers after 10 ops, and without GBP there should be no discrimination, 0.3% will always be 0.3% elites. You could try to take a SoT after every NS and run that numbers, you wouldn't keep getting the same % of kills in the respective category.
