Wars seem hard to come by.
Getting troops drafted and trained seems slower.
Other than random learns - there seems to not be as much going on as normal.
Is it my perception or are things a bit stagnant?

I guess it depends on what type of kd you are in. Only had one brief period where we did not war right after eowcf/prosp this age. Other than that, action packed :D
We had no problems pumping but nobody wants to war.
Land based gains => slow game. This surprises no one who's been paying attention over many ages to the fundamental drivers of the game. I called it before we made the change to the hybrid system last age, and I'm pretty sure I called it *again* this age when they made a few changes that make it even worse.
Devs surprised, afaik. Read into that what you will.
it's vs. its is ambiguous - from now on I'm attempting to use the proper possessive it's, and the contraction 'tis. (Its will just be the plural.)

I have a lot of people who don't know how to pump in my KD. Every time we come out of EoWCF we get waved at least 5 times. We can't take any of them to war because the people waving are pumped and so we just farm out some acres and zzzzzzzzzzzz.

The devs have made a decision to kill competitive utopia and have thereby killed my interest with it.
This is about 10 days OOW now, size 1000-1200 acres in a ghetto. The troops die faster than they can be trained!Lost 21 scientists, 355 soldiers, 11,670 Beastmasters, 455 acres, 7,864 peasants due to meteors, fireballs, kindnappings, attacks and landlusts.

I only played beginning of age, but generally speaking, if you want action you grow. I've been acustomed to being fat and getting dog plied. This is good(for me) because I fight back and use my fat to absorb punishment.
Problems arise when a divide occurs between players that are concerned about their resources(honor, land, rating) in the short term and players who practice seige tactics. See it like cardio: pumped provinces tend to suffer more in these exchanges over time because they carry more troops etc than they can recover. They can do "more" but at an expenditure that can be exploited by more pliable builds and meter awareness.
It's why I'll stick cleric on about any race. I'm prone to run lower troop numbers with decidedly higher wtpa. Suiciding with faery is one of the meter bait tactics I enjoy. Most t/mish players are very anal about the amount of damage they sustain, and rightfully so. My stand is that faery can be a 3-headed monster and makes a fine core attacker if all measures are employed. Not for everyone and I'd discourage using faery as a traditional full core. You excel if you're hyperactive, know your targeting wheelhouse and are free to hit your chosen prey.
