I was always under the impression that SoM's were most accurate (net defense at home) taken with 20%+1 thief intel. The guide says 50%. Can anybody clear this up?

20%+1 gives maximally accurate home defense SoM.
Where does the guide say 50%?
It's 20%+1. It used to be 50% iirc.
20%+1 is max accuracy.

Can someone with a wiki account fix this please?

What's max accuracy? 3% more or less?
You do remember correctly. And it seems that Bishop saw this thread before I did :P
Min margin of error is +/-3%, meaning that you could possibly get 100% accurate intel being a non-halfer, but it is extremely unlikely that it will happen. All numbers in the intel grabbed with 20%+1 thieves should be between 97% and 103% of the actual value.

Does the same apply to SoTs?
I am quite new to this spy on throne business, last time I played was when CBs were still around and we needed both CBs and SoMs for accurate intel.
My question is:
Are CBs/SoTs no longer necessary to make a successful attack? Is all you need an accurate SoM (using the recommended 20%+1) and offense oversend by 7%?
I think you can rely on an SoM, though Angel won't process it so you'll have to do enter the numbers manually or use a calculator. I try to get both, since SoT is low cost and has a much higher success rate.
SoM is always 100% accurate for number of troops out and attack time, so if you have an SoM already taken you don't need another for attacking purposes save to account for losses on an ambush.
What about other intels such as SoS and infiltrate? Are they 100% accurate? What amount needs to be sent?
10 thieves for a som is fine - its always 100% accurate on army out... rest isnt accurate
SoT is 20%+1 however for 97% accuracy but i tend to times the defense number by 1.07 to make sure i always break.
