The U (#4) v/s Settlers (#5)

That invisible handbook sure is followed in more fanatical way then the Bible..

Proteus didnt set precedence he made up bull**** to get things his way and you guys are still hanging on to it when it suits you, but when it goes against you its a mad man that chatted too much ****.

A Hostile is a hostile, if CR is going to ****play and double then do so, but dont try and make it out like it wasnt a legit hostile, because as soon as the top gives notice they expect everyone else to stay out, CR included.

Emeriti that goes to you too if Settlers and The U had already agreed and given notice, then its bull for you to wave in too, you should have waited to theirs was sorted, regardless of them having finalised a CF, because then you could just have waved them after their war and refused a CF then and taken what you wanted. I guess you were scared they would win and you would lose too much to CR, which would have put you in a position where settlers could have taken acres from you after... But thats the game afterall.

Though if meter isnt hostile yet, it is fair enough, though not really a nice thing to do.

Honestly, top play in Utopia is watching politics/power struggle in the real world, except we know more of what's going on. Interesting to see the BS that flies about, how to mislead others, mislead/rouses the peons kd members, how to re-write history, how that there are just commentators/trolls who don't even partake in the game spill their drivel. Quite the real life lessons learned from a game.

You've learned nothing if you think that's the case. There's a bunch of factors which take part in making it a free cf or not. Most certainly though, if you're #1 and #2 and both racing for the charts, I fail to see why it's not logical to demand acres if the other party wants to extend. So, if this is too hard to understand, you've learned nothing :p

Fwiw, you don't need a kingdom of allstars to make it into top3. We have 167 kingdoms left, only a handful are competing for the charts. If 2 kingdoms are having a go at each other and basically prevent each other from growing, then it's not hard to make it to top3.

My first statement was true because of what I already explained. It's not as though I added anything to the statement, other than maybe stipulating that I meant by the middle of the age. Other than that, yea, I agree, any good for nothing kingdom could find themselves in the top 3, say OOP, when there's been basically no diplomacy done.

@Prot (because you refuse to limit your replies into one easy to quote post lol) - I'm quite sure cRAZiEs got drug through the mud last age because they wanted acres for their CF's even though the altruist and benevolent Expendables gave out CFs like they were delicious little snack sized snickers on halloween.

Also, I didn't say you needed an all-star cast to make the top 3. I said you need decent players, with decent leadership all wrapped up into a decent kingdom. I absolutely do not consider "decent" kingdoms to be ghettos. Maybe you do, but then we're working with two completely different understandings of what a ghetto is, which means just about anything I say about ghettos would be meaningless to you, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong/incorrect/stupid.

Even more specific suddenly, its not that they are just in top 3 its that they are in top 3 in yr 4 and have quality players annd navigate the top diplo.

So, still your initial statement is dumb, what you claimed first isnt what you then proceed to explain. Being top 3 isnt enough to be "none ghetto" by your own words.

The only reason Settlers gave that notice was to try to run from Emeriti because they knew they were coming for them. Noticing another kingdom does not and should not give you the right to be protected from someone you have no deal with. I don't care what the historical precedents are, thats just dumb. You fail at the diplo, then that's your problem.

It is not like CR and Emeriti had an agreed war. Just because your notice date is coming up doesn't mean you have to fight them. Everyone has the RIGHT to choose who they fight and when, within reason. And you absolutely have the right to run if it's done in an appropriate way. No one can tell someone else who they have to fight until they've made an actual war deal. There was no war deal between the top 2 kds, just a date they could notice each other. I know everyone wants to see the 1 v 2 fight but if #2 doesn't think they stand a chance and wants to buy some time or get another war to improve their chances going forward, none of you have the right to tell them they cannot. I'm not saying everything was done appropriately by any of the 3 parties involved, but you still can't tell me or anyone else who I can and can't fight especially if someone doesn't follow through with diplo, which settlers did not. I can notice 100 kds at once and it means nothing till the notice is up.

Follow up adds nothing to statement #1. Follow up explains the logic behind statement #1 for those that are going to howl at the moon because they don't understand what's being said.

The only thing that I said that actually did add anything to statement 1, was that I was talking about currently (beginning of the middle of the age), and I conceded that any garbage kingdom could be top 3 before diplo had really started and the top kingdoms had taken over the top

But hey, let's keep arguing about a pointless, throwaway comment that Palem made because god forbid you call him out and actually be wrong about something.

Top play is all about justifying your actions, and its usually better if you are in a position of power. And the lack of proper whoring competition thus far other than emeriti and cr just makes things even trickier. I'm pretty sure if there are a few more kingdoms all much closer to the #1-#2 range, events would definitely be different.
