Professors teach uni for money. That's there job. They won't say they're doing it for some invisible man in the clouds. Therefore that type of education having a charge is understandable. But religion? Come on. It's based on faith which is what you feel god is, why should you have to pay for that?
It's in a country's interest to educate enough people to make the country work as it should do. Also, it's in the country's interest to ensure social mobility and equal opportunities for everyone. How rich you are shouldn't decide whether or not you get an education. We all see how that is working out for Africa... Education means enlightenment, less fanatism and more reflection. And not least, less poverty.Quote:

Why do you need a 'church' to believe in god? You don't, you need a church to have someone feed you 'your' beliefs.
Churches offer plenty of services. There's more to religion than believing in god. That's just the starting point.
But even so, if nothing else a church is a place for people of similar beliefs to meet up and discuss said beliefs. There's no reason not to take advantage if you want to explore your beliefs and others do as well.
Saying that churches are useless because lazy people use them to be told what to believe is like saying paper is useless because everything is electronic now (I know, brilliant analogy =] )
I think Religion is the equivalent to Apple and Mac's, people who don't know better need someone to do it for them.

There are a lot of things I hate.
Don't know much about modern pagans, but the ancient pagans used forrest clearings for rituals (~churches) if I recal my grade school lectures correctly.
