I'm really sick of these OOH hits.

I don't think anyone was talking about gc, just about land hits. People shouldn't hoard enough gc in a hostile to make people want to steal/plunder, especially since they can evenly distribute that and/or pay for a dragon.

Sometimes you just have to drag out the hostile. Most kingdoms don't declare instantly anyway as they can't get people online in a short notice and just a couple of hours are enough to get outside hits from the above mentioned Douchebags.

Later edit: Believe it or not big kingdoms don't hit into hostiles on purpose (big kingdoms do have a lot of active noobs though, who will make mistakes from time to time). That won't stop them from getting your acres if your kingdom can't defend them at any other time.

maybe palem's suggestion is that people intentionally hit into hostiles since there is lesser chance of retal?

You might want to check your facts, Perhaps ask Bishop even. That was a first war Mutual peace. no win. The win was from a double hostile and a raze to 7 acres of a province. Which was won against the odds in min time. They were categorically farmed after the first war. But they bounced back and did a whole lot less crying than everyone here seems to be doing over 3 hits. If you show up on the target finder in the war room as 135nwpa or less and as someone hitting off a phone you don't always waste stealth on snatch news or waste time when your at work checking kingdom and so forth, you get a SOT see they are not at war and you hit. It's quite simple and logical.

Palem stated this wasn't the first time a kingdom had done so this age, and I dare say it was the first time from that kingdom. So it's not like they sent in a full wave which they could of, the underlying issue is the target finder although useful has caused Palem headaches in the past and most likely will in the future. Perhaps listing kingdom names or tags in the targets finder, or even a small bit of text at the bottom of a SOT indicating the kingdom is hostile could prevent the problem in the future. I can understand Palems' frustration though everyone has to accept that it happens to everyone on the server no kingdom has impunity from those events.

And yes some top kingdom do actually use the target finder when they are forced to attack off their phone at work, or on the bus, or driving in their car. Don't hate the player hate the game. No rules were broken. No full waves tantamount to a double hostile were employed either. So no I don't see what everyone's problem is . Threatening gang bangs over 3 hits is just childish.

You're probably talking about a different kingdom.

It's not a target finder issue (although I agree that it needs fixing). They don't hit optimal fat provinces, they just hit hostile kingdoms for the free land.

That being said, this topic is about the prevalence of this behaviour and what can be done against it.

Hitting into someone's hostile is not against the game rules. So you cannot expect others not to hit into your hostile nor demand that from them. If you feel mistreated by a hit into your hostile you should hunt them down and bring the fight to them. Tagging up as hostile, rebuilding, no war, please don't hit me or whatever is at best a polite request not to attack. It holds absolutely no value when it comes to game rules.

Such acts should be resolved in game with retals, deplomacy or have a friendly kingdom get them of your back. Not with changing game mechanics or comming up with unwritten rules that you expect others to follow

A polite request to keep your fight 1v1 is all it should take. Apparently it's not and people need a good reminder in why it's not ok to act like a bunch of classes douchebags. It's not a matter of game rules, it's a matter of players respecting one another.

Those unwritten rules are already a part of the game. It would be a lot more fun if they weren't (though farming would become rampant). Adding game mechanics for hostile is a definite no.

I agree, there shouldn't be any in-game mechanics to protect a hostile. People should just have the good sense to leave a 1v1 as a 1v1 unless they want their future conflicts to not be 1v1.

Saying in one thread that people hitting into a hostile is bad because it should be 1 vs 1 whilst in other threads advocating that razing into other people's wars or calling in "allies" to do the same to your opponents under the slightest minor provocation is just ridiculous.

Wars should be 1 vs 1 in every circumstance, no kiddie excuses and toys out of the pram exceptions. Hostile is not recognised as being anything on the KD page so it isn't anything until it becomes war. There's no reason for hostile relations to be dragging on unless some kingdom of numpties has given another ops/spells and are then getting what they deserve in response.

How is hitting out of your war keeping the war 1v1? Once you hit out it's no longer 1v1, so there's no obligation on your side to keep it that way either. Either way aren't you the one who spouts off about how if it's not against the game rules than it's fair game? Hitting into wars isn't against the game rules.

No you didn't. You tried to play it off like it was some other kd with nubs making mistakes. You haven't once apologized (in private or public) for the hits. As bishop said, your lazy nubs couldn't bother to waste their precious stealth to see if a hostile was actually a hostile and now it's going to cost you. Don't pin it on a "New to the game" player. To answer my own question; because it really sucks when its not. Same applies with hostiles, its just a courtesy thing. Two KDs matched up in NW/Land/Activity agree to war both expecting a solid exciting war. Then hits come in to one or both sides and while 'valid' and not against any rules, it really throws a spanner in the works for one or both KDs and its just unfortunate and can easily impact the outcome of the war.

Also why does everyone assume this hostile was dragging out? We arranged a war after 2 other KDs ran from us, and had a hostile of like 24 hours while they had the button.

C'mon you guys can be such sissies complaining over one or two hostile hits like you have never hit into another hostile before. We all get hits. Blame yourselves for being the weaker province or else just man up, suck it up and play the game. Like you said hitting into wars isnt against the rules much less hitting into hostile. Quit whining.

People who arrange wars deserve what they get. It's another of those "questionable" practices that isn't "against the rules", but is still a grey area that is basically just a tiny step away from fake wars. If you arrange a war how on earth do you end up in hostile for 24 hours?!! Even wars that happen without being arranged usually get to war faster than that.

As for why wars would be 1 vs 1, where is the game mechanic for alliances? There isn't one, there never has been, they aren't part of the game. Calling in help for your war or razing into someone else's war (since Trad Marches into someone else's war are massively penalised) is simply abusing the mechanics of a kingdom based game. We might as well have 200-province kingdoms and mass war.

People just choose to follow the shady practices that suit them and use the shady practices that don't suit them to excuse their actions.

It takes just 3 hits to give a kingdom ops and spells. That means a large number of kingdoms are regularly subject to those. Are we seriously saying people shouldn't hit them and should mess around getting Snatch News to work out whether that kingdom is receiving ops that are responsible for their fat provinces before making an attack? It's just not realistic. Either hostile has to be made into a proper visible relation and penalised by some amount for hitting into it or people just have to live with it and either go to war faster or don't go hostile in the first place.

I'm not a big fan of arranged wars, but so many KDs just run away from waves from KDs in the same NW range, we just got tired of waving runners :\

The way I see it the courtesy went away for two reasons.
1. Because faketagging is so incredibly prevalent that the odds are better that it's a faketag than that it isn't.
2. Because intel uses the same finite resource as stealing, and except for SoT's it costs 3% resource and success is nowhere granted.

Agreed, all whoring kd's is on a schedule and as long as you're not a solo prov you have the power to interrupt or delay that schedule which can hurt them a lot in their crown quest.

I think most people hitting into actually active hostiles is being intentionally rude/douchy, they just have better things to do with their stealth than to find out that the tag is just yet another fake tag and you've wasted stealth for no good reason, either make SN a trivially easy 1% op or tie hostile tag to meter in one way or another.

I got an idea, why don't you get into war fast, instead of these lame ass prolonged hostiles? Some of these hostiles are a joke, with neither kingdom hitting, as both kingdoms dont wanna give up the button.... grow a pair... give a button... and PUSH THE DAMN THING!!!!

It's not quite so simple.

I wave an average of 3 kingdoms 5-10% bigger than mine for each war that I get.

Every time we're hostile, we eat at least a few hits from kds way bigger than us.

If it's one hit from a kd up at the top I just send them a courteous message asking them to leave us alone while we're hostile and just attack any overgrown attackers of ours after our war. That has never failed to deter additional hits and routinely just gets me a CF from people for free.

Being nice has its perks.

The problem KDs are the ****ty overgrown ghettos that aren't really long term established KDs with good leadership. They don't care about fair play, or have any respect at all. So I usually just ignore them, as sending them a message usually just results in further hits.

Lots of people just say 'oh grow bigger and you won't have those issues' but I like warring a lot every age, and I'm still trying to make sure I've got 20 returning each age, much less 25. The same ****ty ghettos aren't exactly going to line up to war if I grow to their size, and I can't compete with the more established 25 prov KDs until I get a more solid roster and can jump to 25 people.

I'm brand new to the game, and currently play on my phone from out at site. I use a wifi key on my breaks at work, so my time and bandwidth is very valuable. So when I log in, and search for a target. So when I see al elf as fat as he was, I'm gonna hit. Even I don't run a province that low. If I did that, my monarch would ream me, I may be new, but who's the nub?

But when I was ordered to stop hitting in I did. But had I have known you were gonna be such a whinging little ***** over a few hits, I would have ignored the order and hit again.

People target hostiles whether you're tagged or not. If you're not tagged, get hit, and complain, the response will be "tag hostile then! I didn't know you were hostile because you weren't tagged!" or something along those lines. Good chance they did know, but they will use that excuse anyways. If you are tagged hostile, it makes things even easier for the ****players to target you. Lose lose really.
