Not that I have the time or interest in this thread. However, Ruthless fought in the tier they where suited to this age(every war was well fought and they were often behind), and fs were well within their rights to wave .
I was too busy to seek a proper cf with with fs when things happened, and hence whether they were double the Ruthless size or not, I was too inactive to do what I could have to acknowledge the tier differential.
I don't give a **** if people don't like that. However I ain't gonna cry about it. Fs positioned themselves. We (me) were too inactive to react. They harvested at the extent of the range.
I'm of the position that Ruthless did okay. I'm also of the position that fs did nothing wrong.
Afaik , fs didn't press the auto button, so it was a ****ing harsh but okay retal war for Ruthless. =)

Of course it wouldn't be okay...but warring someone that can actually fight back to me is far more acceptable than beating up on someone that cannot.
In either case though...talking badly about their opponent after they win the war is in very bad taste and shows bad sportsmanship.
Instead of not saying anything, admitting mistakes were made or addressing any of the real concerns, you chose to comment on the one hypothetical example I made up.
Mechanics are mechanics and we all play within them. FS did nothing wrong from my pov. I'm sure they would accept the same being done to them. =]

So after reading this epic thread, I find myself questioning what the hell people are arguing about.
I've played this game on and off for many years, some of those years on the top, and the last few in the "war tier"... I suppose you could call Ruthless a ghetto... I don't care really what you label us. We have an incredibly strong core group of players, but none of us really want (or is able to) put the effort in to take it to the next level. We like to have fun while still being challenged. Our war record and avg opp size should speak to that (102% at this time).
We're very comfortable playing at our level, and as makeo pointed out - we've had lots of tough wars this age, the majority of which we were the underdogs. We pulled through. They were tough, but good fights.
That being said, I've been on both ends ... being the bully and being bullied. It's part of the game to farm and get farmed. Was I happy/excited about it when FS started in on us? Not really. We decided that we weren't going to go with the status quo so we put up a fight. You were going to take the honor any way, so why not have some fun with it. Taking into consideration that essentially every possible kingdom in our range had declined war with us.
When things went down, I didn't have the time to do any diplo so I just rolled with the punches. If the meter maxed and we had war, well, it most certainly would have been... interesting.
I don't necessarily hold anything against FS for what happened with us - I get that it is just how the game goes. So, gratz to FS for taking #1 honor.

If you tried to negotiate a better position and a fair war and they said "fight now, or bend over and bite the pillow" then well you could probably can call them bullies.
Weather they hit you first or not is irrelevant if a more even playing field wasn't even attempted and you just blindly retaled. It seems to me you purposely kept the networth difference between you 2 to validate a war dodging but are trying to use their incoming hits as justification for a retal. You can't retal from a losing position, deny a cf, and then try to call them bullies.
93% vs 103% is a very easily close-able gap for two parties interested in a fair war. Maybe they were rude, but you probably did war dodge.
earth you misunderstood...93% and 103% were the average opponent size on each kingdom. In relation to each other ...in our case we weren't in declare range until nw was dropped. With Ruthless I am not sure but they were quite a bit smaller as well. So there was no dodging.
