300 pezzies?!?! im talking about 3... im talking about ticks till death, you last a while with 300. just make sure your cranking out those Rax. everytime you hit you gain alot of pezzies. this is another reason you keep your offense goin
300 is for when you want to sleep.
3 peasants is 1 tick away from death. If I'm remembering correctly, min leaving is 7 or 14/hour or something like that.
I remember i hit Viscount in honor with only 150 acres because i constantly attacked with my old undead and was being chained to hell.
so much stupid in this thread.
Basically he was down to about 10 peasants, 5 minutes before tick 300 soldier aid and then released into peasantry so the tick wouldnt kill him while waiting for incoming land
He was at ~100 acres btw
And no wizard and thief release not possible he exhausted those options 48 hours ago
I'm pretty sure that that's not right. There was a thread about this last age I think. I'll find it.
Found it:http://forums.utopia-game.com/showth...hlight=overpop
Minimum would appear to be ~10.
hmmm i like that thread though its kind of vague with numbers. if wiki is right
http://wiki.utopia-game.com/index.ph...Overpopulation
Population exceeds Max Population: Your peasants will leave and no new peasants will be born. Peasants leave at a rate of 7% of total peasants or the amount you are overpopulated by, whichever of the two is lower.
10 pezzies times .93 = 9.3 rounded to 9.
so one pezzie per tick. i log on alot, and i can tell you i watched them walk away one at a time
if you have 8 hour attack times you are in no danger
There is a min peasants go away. Between 7 and 14
May i ask when was the last time that any of you pked someone, were pked yourselves or saw another province be pked? I haven't been playing for very long at all, i am yet to see this occur.
i did a pk 3 days ago. 2 of em infact, and 4 in the past 4 days. i could do another one anytime. it's not hard; its just stupid to do for a real war.
Im currently looking at a prov with 7 peasants. pk is easy.
i almost pked a province myself, at least almost finished it off, a few days ago, although it dissapeared entirely before my armies could return. Isn't it just easier to take away acres rather than kill a Province peasant by peasant?
Nope, it's extremely hard to bring a province to 0 acres, especially during war. OOW it is a bit easier with Raze destroying acres..
Just a clarification, does Raze destroy acres permanently? I have only done TM and Learn attacks so far. Does raze destroy buildings, or does it permanently destroy acres?
That seems odd, is there a definition anywhere as to why? This isn't off the point of the thread because it relates to trying to pk during war, surely razing should be just as effective during times of war. Just my two noob cents.
It's too powerful to use in war. A big strategy would be to raze a chained prov until they die.
indeed and it would be a logical and good strategy, just like TM but using scorched earth policy. I think it should be even in an out of war time. Razing is Razing, regardless of politics.
Noob logic.
I'd rather be able to keep my province alive than have raze be powerful.
Raze destroying acres makes no sense though. How do you make it so that I can't rebuild on an acre of land?
Sprinkle salt on it...lol
i do not know how it would cause land to be unbuildable', perhaps in the same way that is does in OOW raze attacks, as i said i have never done a Raze attack before, only Traditional March and Learn so far. It just seems to me that razing OOW is the same as razing in war, if anything - during war i imagine any armies doing Raze attacks would make more of an effort to be destructive than OOW razing.
Noob logic.
logic has no place here! people didnt like being killed in war with razes.
I don't like being killed off with Trads! Remove them! ;p
lol @ Bishop
Fair enough
When was the last time that happened Palem?
Probably about 18 minutes before he posted ;)
We've tracked several provinces this age with ~50 peasants and they had lost a consistent 10 peasants / tick when overpopped.
Not true, we tracked it from 2k-8 peasants. I will try to post some newsworthy thing here. I start with FB.
Fireball:
70 pessies left = 4 kills
60 pessies left = 3 kills
50 pessies left = 2 kills
40 pessies left = 1 kills
30 pessies left = 1 kills
29 pessies left = 0 kills
Kidnapp = We got 0, no matter how many thiefs we sent after he came below 60-70 pessies.
Desertion = He had around 10 desertion per tick between 100-200 pessies, after this the curve went down.
Around 6-7 desertion when he had 60 pessies left.
Between 29-15 pessies he had 4 desertion per tick with wizard and soldier draft. He also had MS, greed, riots, drought those ticks.
Between 15-8 pessies he lost 2-3 pessies per tick. This is when he logged in and released army.
Id say if he would have had only 1-8 pessies the curve would been as low as 1 desertion per tick.
Yea i know, i was suprised also. Almost impossible to peasant kill someone.
TM in range 1700a prov vs 1700a prov both on 230k nw. Took 3 pessies when he had 50 pessies left.
This works in the same way. We returned with 0 pessies in the end.
So the only thing that can kill someone by peasant kill is the desertion alone.
I took the oppertunity to try and PK a prov in Acres over the weekend. This info is accurate and the rest in here is wrong.
AGE 55
Just out of curiosity in war range / size has effects on gains but the fact you gain acres no matter what in war,
and out of war if you are out of range you get 0 accres,
so if the person you are trying to kill is lets say 200 acres and for example the guys killing him with razes is 2-3k acres because he started in that range out of war
is 8it really easier to kill someone out of war w/ razes given that size difference? or would it be quicker in war with 10-14 acre grabs quad taps by 5-6 provs in a 24 hour period to kill him off with trads
is it really faster to kill someone out of war with the size range protection?
curious (and lets presume the prov is inactive and not having incoming lands in both scenarios...)
So really is faster to kill someone OOW tcompared to in war!?
fascinating please do go on! id love to know how that effectively works... with size range protection
or is that no size limits when using range with raze OOW?
This is odd. We noticed the same trend that under 30 peasants, fb and kidnap yeild 0 kills. Said province at 30 peasants got pked after 3 ticks of inactivity (30->20->10->death message on news page).
This was one of their deep chained provinces. Perhaps your target wasn't overpopped to the same extent? We got a clean 10 peasant loss per tick, yet you didn't. There must be some other confounding factors involved, so I wouldn't be quick to declare one side to the right or wrong without understanding why. What are the circumstances to reproduce this effect? For example, we were in war, were you?
