We were able to get more gc from robbing up than around our size. Just like this age you were able to get more gc robbing down at us than those your size. Why is that? Either the game isn't coded to ensure people interact with those within range, or provs are stocking so much gold that it mitigates any balancing code put in place. Either way it makes the most sense to use stealth where it is most effective: Which means, ignoring your request of robbing only KDs around your NW.

We aren't "picking" on anyone, nor do we want the top to change. I'm cool with the top stocking gold because it is for my benefit, too. But you have to understand our point of view -- and I think you do because BiO was in our position not too many ages ago -- we steal resources from where they flow most efficiently, though we aren't constantly stealing, lol. If the code makes it more efficient to steal from the largest KDs then either it is an error by the developers or by the KDs themselves. No need to double us in war because we chose the most efficient way to gain gc. You need to either respect our play and work out diplomacy with us if you think we are going to far, or lobby Bishop and the developers to improve the code in your favour.

IMO some players in the top are acting like an extremist religion, basing your beliefs on gaming code and mechanisms being taken out of context. You take practices you feel developers should have in place and make rules out of them. What is the point of this game without player interaction? We are only supposed to interact during war? That is like 4 weeks max out of a 12 week age. The rest of the time I'm twiddling my thumbs with my KD mates on IRC. That is 2/3rds an age where I am bored and pumping. I cherish the ages where I was excited to see nobody in the news, because now I get excited to see some action. I have been randomed like twice in the past 4 ages. We have gone so far in our fear of bottom feeding that we have swung the pendulum to far in the other direction.
You also feel that KDs should be able to notice and stock gc for dragons and pump provs. IMO, the point of the game is not to stock a bunch of gc on low draft, then draft up and train to have both a massive stockpile of gold and a superpumped province. Correct me if I'm wrong but Utopia is supposed to challenge you to optomize your province and balance economy for military strength. You aren't supposed to be able to fund 2 drakes in a single tick and still have maxed out OPAs. And if your gc is easy to steal then, as Canada Bill Jones says, "it's immoral to let a sucker keep his money." If you want to be able to do that, get the devs to code something that let's you protect gold coffers better.

Yes flogger, you are correct, Cats and BiO are at an impasse. Here is the future as I see it, we will both write this age off and continue next age as normal. We are going to continue to rob where it is most efficient, which will likely lead us to appearing in the news of top KDs. BiO, tired of this, will once again raze Cats and Cats will tie up BiO until they have lost their ability to crown and have another FSU age. We will continue this square dance age after age until both KDs start to lose players because of boredom. Then a short-handed Cats KD will still steal from the most stealth-efficient provs and BiO will return to their roots alongside Cats. Both have some stuff to lose but not that much. There is no lesson to be learned here flogger. We just need to learn how to coexist and deal with seeing one another in province news.

As Elurin posted earlier, you made limited attempts to gain a CF this age, and not reaching out on IRC is pretty lame. We have the 6th most popular chan on utonet, and the 2nd most popular public chan. You obviously didn't look very hard, but if you want to settle this diplomatically then come find our leaders on #pinkghetto (Elurin is on vacay, so seek out gualdin and we can discuss among leadership).
Just know that our position still stands as you or members of your leadership talked with Elurin in-game, we will only respect true hostilities and only typically CF post-waves because other issues can be solved diplomatically. The issues you have are with the developers of Utopia and not us, we just play the game as is most efficient and are prepared to deal with appropriate consequences of those actions.
I hope you can see our position and realize that CFs aren't cure-all remedy that they seem to be made out as, and that a retal war is only building a rivalry and not changing either of our ways. As I said before, we don't expect the top to change but please respect the way we play the game and find a way to coexist. The funny thing is that I think we are a very similar KD to BiO from 4-5 ages ago. Very similar in KD attitude and player strength, but lacking on activity and coordination. We are like your annoying little brother -- :P -- so come tease us on #pinkghetto like every cuddly family should do. Sorry for the long post, but I'm hoping to impart my view -- Im not speaking for the KD -- on my views of KD interaction, and I agree that some changes should be made to the code. BUt, until we can find a way to coexist, we shall continue to enjoy our activities :)
