Also if I may add to Maximo's questions which were fantastic.

How many people are you allowed to have on the boat at a time?
Are there speed limits on the waters?
Can you go tubing? Wakeboarding? Water skiing?
Are there noise restrictions based on time of day? Such as early morning Ke$ha blasting instead of CRJ.
Can you take animals on the boats? If domestic how about wild as well?
Are fireworks allowed? How about guns?

Thanks very much for the information look forward to a mutually beneficial financial arrangement.

What time of the year did you go.
How much is the fuel cost, or is that factored in?
Did you have someone along who knew how to drive and steer such a vessel.
Did you just pull up on beaches, and make fires there? Were there fire places on the boat?
Did you have free reign over where you were able to go? Where did you find some 100 ft cliff to jump off of?
    Which boat did you rent?
Do you just drop an anchor at night, or do you have to tie up somewhere, and how much does that cost?

Thanks in advance for your swift response.
We had 17 people on boat, boat was max 15, (determined by beds as there was at one point more like 30 ppl on it). It was $1400 for 3 days I think I didn't have to pay. It was mid july. Also the boat had a hotub.

Fuel was included in cost. You required a boating license to rent it, but it moved really slow, and beaching it was just driving it into a sand beach and then using a sledge hammer to peg it in with some steel poles. (naturally we lost the sledge hammer using it as an axe on the first night $50 charge)

No fires on the boat, fires on beaches.

Sproat lake, apparently there is a 50 meter cliff you can dive off somewhere, the 30 meter was biggest we saw. The lake is huge over 25km in length, you could go where you want but there was only several spots to really park at night since much of the lake shore is cliff/forest and could not be docked on. I think you could just drift relatively safely, but you were asked to make it to a beach at night. No one ever checked up on us as far as I could tell.

I don't know what boat we rented but it had a hot tub and not enough beds. I recall being pushed into the lake in my clothes before bed and there was 3 of us on a queen sized bed, they weren't stoaked that I refused to put on new clothes since it was their fault my original clothes got wet... Its tight sleeping conditions.

Again you just beach yourself, they give you a crudely drawn map with the recommended beaches.

If you're ever in BC there is a few other lakes that rent houseboats, but I highly recommend sproat lake. Big relatively quiet lake.

Don't think they told us, may have been in a disclaimer we signed but I don't recall. It wasn't regulated. They did not let you leave the main dock with well over the number you said you had.

Doubt there is speed limits, you can rent jet skis and ski/wakeboard boats. The house boats are incredibly slow, only slightly faster then I could swim.

There isn't much for houses on the lakes and nothing near the beach areas. Some local came by with a party boat to one of the beaches that had a projector/lazers and massive sound system. It was incredibly loud mostly hip hop music. The karate kid although hard to watch was projected on trees(no sound disappointingly), and a lot of green lights. The guy didn't have any carle rae but managed to drown ours out completely. These were dark times. He actually played some kesha and it was around 3am that night before I passed out, no idea when he left but I bet it wasn't till near sun up.
I presume no animals on the boats but didn't ask. Fishing was allowed so are finish animals? Wild fish seemed okay.
Don't think fireworks are allowed in BC, certainly not in the summer for forest fire reasons.
If you have an appropriate gun permit you can probably carry your gun where ever you want. The area would not be an area where hunting is allowed.

Anyway I think this is enough about house boating. But renting a house boat should be a bucket list item it was crazy fun. Way better then most the stuff people put on those things.

Stratocastle like any sane person if a bear appeared I would ignore all that crap they tell you about trying to look big and not running. I would run. I would trip anyone who looked fast to increase my odds of getting away.
