After this war I relise that I have made several mistakes. The biggest problem I had was keeping up with the stupid ammount of land I was taking in. The second, related to the first was lack of defense. It made me an easier target, which is good in as much that they focused too many attacks on me, thus lowering thier gains, bad in that I lost some acres too this war. Third, I looked over my build strat. I found glaring mistakes, such as 25% banks, overspending on homes, Training Grounds, & Towers. Fourth, I need to hybrid somehow, as straight attacker is not bad, A/T is managble & much more useful.

I think I could be doing more. At first I was very concerned about rainbowing, but after reevaluation the bonuses from buildings, running more than 20% of something hits you whit some pretty bad diminished returns. With Thief Hybrid I can steal the GC, Runes, & horses I need, & save myself about 25% land on banks. Keeping my Old strat in mind, here is the new ****.

    Homes: 20%
    Farms: 8%
    TG: 20%
    Rax: 17%
    Hos: 10%
    Guilds: 10%
    TD: 15%

At 1k acres it looks like this:

    Mod Max @ 1k= 27398
    Military @ 1k= 17808.7
    Def spec @ 1k= 8000
    off leets @ 1k= 5808 = 46 Raw OPA(52 w/ horses)
    Thieves @ 1k= 2000
    Wizards @ 1k= 2000
    Pesants @ 1k= 9590

    Mod off @ 1k= 74126
    Mod OPA @ 1k= 74 MOD opa

tl;dr : Running 100opa is fun, but if it's just you, you are the primary target.

Big thanks to VT2 for his help in cracking open the boxed in thinking of a stupid Orc heavy attacker.

How do I run effective thievery rob operations, including finding targets on oow?
I am losing more thieves than I gain. :(

Find targets that are rich, run an infiltrate with 8 thieves, and keep trying until you get through.
If the game estimates them to have greater thieves than you, find another target, or just run a plunder instead.

Dwarves tend to have weak T, and don't like wasting land on watchtowers outside of war.
Many humans, typically run by new players, also have little T and M, so go hunting for them.
Catwalk's crusade for legalized cheating was a stunning success, with ghettos and low-tiered teams everywhere losing their wells of knowledge to better kingdoms in the process.

Step one: replace everything that works.
Step two: blame the predictable epic fail on outside forces.
Step three: keep the community informed that no progress has been made since the last update.
Step four: thank you for your patience.

Have a question for the wise, concerning warring strategy: for ages we have been warring mainly relying on massacres. At the begining we've been waving 100% massacres for days and most of the times we gained the upper hand but at the time we were switching to landgrabs the oponent kingdom withdraws, leaving some of our members overpoped or severely troubled for acres.

When we were luckier and managed to complete the massacre plan before minimum time, we were landfat, and, because we were playing hybrid, our t/m abilities were seriously decreased because of this, making the war longer than it should be.

At present day, massacre strategy is stil used but we also have some acre targets, aside massacred ones. Stil, after a round of massacres, they get NSed, like 20-30% of their defense, and at the end they become land target. My point is that i find the process too long and complicated and would like to hear your sugestions. Don't promise to make use of them but it would be nice to read them out.

We're playing Hybrids and T/M and the new guys are undefined yet, but they do make their part of attacks, at least. Also we are not superactive, most of us loging in 2 times/war-day, but there are a bunch of superactive people that keep their armies out 24/7 and also oping.

Massacres are a sticky question, you can land more of them without making hostilities rise super fast, but they really do not do all that much damage...how many massacres do you need on a mage or a thief before they are actually feeling it?

Experienced thieves will just get gold back and just retrain the thieves. We did face a KD a few ages ago who came into war time and massacred our mages for two days, it didnt cripple them, just made it annoying has they had to rebuild buildings, and massacre effects in war are greater.

But conclusion....+10 to Biship, trads are the way to go

Massacres are only good during war, when they do more damage.
To start war, grab some land, do a couple learns, or plunder any rich people.

To the Great and Glorious VT2, Pwner of N00bs and Probably Also a Fleshlight Owner:

With the new changes in Raze, how does one deal with an economically superior kingdom? Our old strat would have been to Raze teh flux out of their humans and possible banks to prevent dragons from coming in, but now we seem to be forced to use trads and hope we can fund our lizards faster.

Our wizards are running into a lot of trouble, so MS and greed isn't as prevalent as it should be. I think we've got this war down, but next time we walk into room and see this, what do?

Trad till overpop isn't as effective as I'd like it to be. Perhaps more thievery? Massacres and hope they don't get a land advantage? Buy Utopia and take the server down for repairs till armies get home? WAT DO?

    Kidnappings and fireballs.
    No peasants, no income.

If they're playing human, number two tends to be very easy.

Hey vt2. I'm totally new to this game and was wondering if you can give advice or build for me?

I'm planning on making a Dark Elf T/M but not sure what personality or build to make.

    T/M is dead.
If you absolutely must run a T/M the coming age, gnome is probably your safest bet.
Same defense as elf and dark elf, but less networth.

    Tag with rogue or mystic.
