    So what are people supposed to do with their mana out of war now? You only have so many self-spells to cast, and with this change you won't even be using mana on intel gathering anymore. And it's not like you can use your fun offensive spells outside of relations anyway.

    Now that you have to use stealth to gather intel, your options for stealth use become much more limited. You'll be wasting a lot of stealth (it's a waste because stealth is infinitely more useful than mana out of war) just trying to see who has what, and you might not even be able to steal anything at the end of your intel hunting.

    To even try to make this work you'd have to make all intel ops only cost 1% stealth on success or failure. With reduced thief losses (unless you only need to send 1 thief to get perfect intel). It's pretty contradictive to say that you want to strengthen thievery, yet implement a change that would lessen a province's overall usable stealth pool.

    A better idea would be to have regenerating "intel vouchers." Every 24hrs you get X amount of free intel gathering that uses no stealth. If you use all of it up in that 24hr period you start using stealth per operation.

    Agreed! At least consider to reduce stealth cost for intel ops then.

    I very, very rarely post. In this case I have a few concerns.

    Currently if you can't get a CB on someone, you can try for a SoM. Under the new system, you have no choice. You can only use thievery.

    SoMs have never been completely reliable, so now we will be forced to consider CBs (or whatever they are called) not completely reliable too. I can foresee a lot of failures due to lack of information.

    A final problem is, it has been years since people have needed to manually calculate attacks. I've played for over 8 years now, and used angel the entire time. Until angel can be completely redone, manual calculations will be necessary. This limits many players, unfortunately.

    I honestly feel this change will finish killing off the game. It isn't a change that allows for attacks, basically it means everyone will end up playing by themselves as individuals. Why bother trying to go to war, when you can't get the information needed to attack?

    Dead on. Hell, we LOVE change. But more than change we NEED a properly working game before we can move forward. WTF is going on here. Brian, Sean WHY? Why are you even considering this? There has to be a reason beyond "we want to keep the game fresh and new". Is there?

    What happens when all kd gets massacres like hell in a war and all drop below 0.5 tpa while opposite kd is full of gnomes at 4 raw tpa? Don't tell me you will make a 0.5 tpa succeeds on 4 tpa cause that's strange again ... I remember a mate as DE mystic and 8-9 raw wpa getting greed with no fail from a human I did fireball at 75% succes rate with my 2 wpa raw!

    Of course we will expect a bit of randomness with the results because they are thief ops and we all know thiefs can never be fully trusted. Not to mention the people your getting the information from isnt the most reliable.

    arent changes supposed to make the game more fun
    the cb/ce thing to thievery is ridiculous its a basic game thing that you get intel that way why the hell change it
    id rahter see race/pers changes because another age of dwarfs would be boring

    right now if you really cant get the cb you can at least take a som to see what kinda army the othero ne has
    or the other way around
    i wonderh ow people are gonna get any intel at all from a thief with 20 mod tpa

    just keep it like it is

    *sigh* and there i was trying to make our old players enthusiastic about playing again..... even had them all lined up already for next age... reading this they will head out right after oop again :S

    you aren't making it easy for us to keep our community together.

    the mage races like DE and Elf have reported strange bugs... Elves really aren't great anymore, especially not with all the strong dwarfs I saw this age... You can add stronger thievery races, but why make thievery such an incredibly, almost everything deciding factor, in the game and completely neglect magic. The only thing you have essentially done for magic is move the Tree of Gold spell around between races, and I do not remember that as a success.
    This game has been about magic, thievery and attacking for a very long time, and magic can really add to the experience because it will make the game much more fun again... powerful MS-casters..... Nightmares... Landlust. The tricky fact that you cannot just train wizards the way you can get thieves... and the fact that it really needs a week or two to pump them up etc, means the magic has to be rewarding at some point. Which was hardly the case in the last ages and will be even less when not even a simple intel-op can be performed with your mana. Mages are slower than thieves and need longer to recover after say, massacres, give them some powers or make them more appealing to play so there will still be a balance between mages and thieves. Players are getting tired of having one dominant race or role in the game. Those who are dominating are getting bored because it's too easy to play, and those who get owned are only getting frustrated more and more.

    i dun understand y is there a nid to change the long time game tradition like moving CB and CE to thievery, right now the most important thing is to fix the bugs tat are overdued ,minor tweaks to race and pers changes will do fine. just fix the bugs!

    ETA on changes for next age to be final? Releasing them less than 24 hours before age ends? Not very friendly. It's nice to be able to consider changes for a couple of days while the game is still active, rather than just getting them when it's almost in freeze mode already.

    Speaking from a business standpoint it makes no sense to just come out and shut down a game. It is generating clicks per day and that is valuable to JOLT for advertising dollars. There may be the minimal man hours put into it but I always expect just enough to keep it going. Maybe someday it will be able to demand the team it deserves. There are no other games like it.

    All the changes are final. They have said so. There is no need for time to consider them because no one cares about your (or anyone else) considerations.
