That's because you are too active to be a ghetto and don't grow enough to truly compete. You don't adapt to make yourselves competitive like you should be. You run your kingdom like a warring kingdom but your activity puts you too close to the top to play it the same way. You put yourself in that crappy range of kds where there's nothing to do but ghetto bash and mess with top kds to no benefit.

@Elurin - I agree that kds should play the way they're comfortable/happy playing. However, with the changes to warring and such and SPGC's skill, they could easily make a crown run based on warring alone and about as much diplo as you already do. Don't try to claim that you don't play "that game" because you do, even if it's at a minimal level.

You know, I object to the idea that KDs sandbag themselves in land. Generally speaking, in my KD (which people accuse of sandbagging in land because we land-drop 250% aver NW provinces) we actually net GROW in EoW CF. In a given war, lets say we all start at 1K acres. At the end, we have two or three provinces at 2500 and like 5 at under 500 acres. The rest are spread form 1750 to 1K acres. We raze the 2500 down to 2K and we explore the 500 up to 1K so we lose 1500 and gain 2500, net gain of 1K and then we war whoever is in range.
We are not big because we war long wars. You simply do not gain as much land in a 10 day war as you do out whoring in the same 10 days. Period.
Are we sandbagging ourselves because we take the honor reward? Too bad. We like honor!
Try a larger KD and maybe you can has that cheezburger :) But i understand what you are saying, its stale, static and limited choices at the top of the NW scale.
So who's in next age for redefining the top of the utopia NW charts? Lets get some of the great kds that are purposfuly staying small up into the mix of the top. Lets see someone take home the Quad crown (NW/Land/Honour/WW).

**edit** I suppose it is just upsetting that we don't let our provinces get out of range so larger KD's can feed onus for easy acres. That is probably more the root of the objections people have to land drop.

You don't get the point. What is ponitless or not depends on what you see yourself as pointless/important If we find wars more interesting then crown becomes pointless for us, for others this might be the other way around. Point is why would we bother trying to compete for something we don't find interesting =)

Cats are good and pushed us to our max endurance. I still think if I had not gotten exhausted we could have beaten them but after 14 days I was done. I know most of the players in my KD were upset when I withdrew and they had more fight in them, but there was no one left to continue to lead the war.
There are kingdoms that can hang with cats, but when you commit to war them, you have to know going in that you will require some strong activity for a very long time.
