I also disapprove of his use of the word conflate. I admittedly had to look it up... and when I have to look up a word, I expect the usage and context not to piss me off. Saying that I am (or we are) somehow mistaken for not being able to separate this ages pew from last is just misguided nonsense. Every KD that carries forward it's name and core players also carries the history and grudges... and if the point is simply that the leadership change makes it a lesser, and thus different beast... well same deal. All named KD's are essentially a conflation of their past and current ages, at least as far as diplomacy and expectations go. It is known.
Perhaps he just misspoke.
