It's not a hard jump in logic to assume where Bishop got his information from when posting that comment.
I've rarely had to contact support, but when I have I've always gotten a response back. Maybe that's because I'm not rude, demanding or a trash talker. The attitude some of you have to towards OMAC and the staff seems counter productive and more often then not will probably get you nowhere.
As to whether or not your cheated it seems likely in that the only kingdoms that suffered mass deletion were kingdoms where cheating has usually been suspected.
I'm pretty sure I'm on their email 'ignore' list already; haven't gotten any replies on my last 10830 emails.
I was always nice in my emails, I think I just ended up overly spamming them though when I didn't get a reply like two hours later, LoL...
I'm sure your guys spam was 10x worse tho.
You are correct. I sent an average of 5 emails per day. I was getting ticket numbers for all of them, so I at least knew the emails were making it although I'm pretty sure they deleted them without reading them and heaven forbid respond to them.
Now when I email them, I don't get ticket numbers. Hence they blocked my email. This is the route Utopia is taking when B&S delete people for no reason. They silence the deleted and refuse to respond. Y
WTF is OMAC's definition from cheating currently ?!?! Thanks to trade/invitation system, i have 2 collegues at work, which played in a same kingdom in (3 provinces with same external IP from work ) and my girlfriend too (duplicated IP when accessing from home). How WTF OMAC can make difference between case like this and cheating ?!?! If there were deletion for chaeting really, so I ASSERT: Your system for finding cheaters SUCKS GREATLY !! Just like all of thinks, which you do.
One IP per player.
You can play one account from home, at work, and your cellphone, but you can't have two accounts playing from home, another one from work, and all three of them from your phone.
It's how it works in all other games that even resemble Utopia, so don't act like you're surprised.
VT2, you are just a spammer. Usefull info in your posts =0. Probably you have no any idea about network struscture.
that's not true VT2, even mehul allowed multiple users from the same IP, you just had to get an exception. and omac used the same policy
You bombard them with emails (in which I assume you were not being too civil) and then wonder why they blocked your email address? Do you need help with 2+2 as well?
I'm going to assume what you said translates to this:
"What is OMAC's current definition of cheating? Thanks to the trade/invitation system I have two colleagues at work who have played in the same kingdom even though we all share the same external IP and my girlfriend plays on a duplicated IP from home. How does OMAC not define that as cheating in comparison to what happened here? If they were deleted for cheating then I believe your system has some major flaws which is on par with everything else you've done." (If you don't get responses back then it's probably because people can't understand what you're saying)
I admit that trying to find the exact rules is like searching for the missing link. The wiki guide isn't a real help and the post Lydia made in December of 2008 ( http://forums.joltonline.com/showthread.php?t=577612 ) regarding the new rules and policy changes references two urls that leaded to missing pages.
One of the most recent thing I could find was a blog from September 2008
http://blog.swirve.com/tag/rules/ . That states "For now, there will be a moratorium on the deletion of traded accounts. Multiple accounts, x-logging, and coercing a player to give up their account information, are still considered offences, and will be handled as previously."
Then there was a Q&A type developers update in June 2009. DHaran had asked about the new cheat detection system mentioned in September 2008 and got this response back "We said that we will progress cheat detection slowly to avoid false-positives. The main difference will be in using a heuristical approach in addition to the current methods. The heuristical approach will take time to tailor. Don’t expect any big changes immediately."
Without knowing how the current system is set up, them mentioning "a heuristic approach" is kind of sketchy. The heuristic approach in terms of computer science "...is a technique designed to solve a problem that ignores whether the solution can be proven to be correct, but which usually produces a good solution or solves a simpler problem that contains or intersects with the solution of the more complex problem". Now I know they said they were going to use the heuristic approach in addition to their "current methods", but it still doesn't take away from the possibility of an error.
Based on their dismissive arrogance and false bravado I would generally assume MA and UG to be capable of cheating, but I do feel they should be owed a more detailed explanation as to why they were deleted other then Bishop relaying what Sean and Brian mentioned briefly to him as a reason.
I know people who used the 'exceptions' under Roisin to play several accounts from one computer.
Exceptions are bad.
Zero-tolerance, or don't have rules at all.
it's struck by lightning, not struct
I really hope you don't quit playing MA, ill try contacting them also, that's kind of lame.
Thanks, i KNEW that existed somewhere... people with illegally traded accounts were given amnesty at that point in time. so previously traded provs became legal at that timeQuote:

lol setoy after screaming around here beause you dont understand why you got deteled, now you are telling us that 3 provs where playing from the same IP, another 2 from a single IP (I belive it was the case of 2 more as you have 7 deleted if I'm not mistaken).
So.. even I can give u the answer why you got deleted than, FOR THAT !
Why is that correct? Because tomorow I will say I have another 24 colegues at work that will play from the same IP as I do.... ofcourse it could be a very big lie and I will be xloging the entire KD.
