To be fair, I said I hadn't decided on you yet. gojete however, is a certainty.

Wasn't it you who suggested linking provinces to forum accounts? That would solve some of the problem I bet.
ittlecas is, if anything, the antithesis of a troll. He came here, posted an opinion mostly in the middle (but supporting homes), listened to our reactions and corrections, went back and redid his simulations with our concerns in mind, and posted a new opinion, still mostly in the middle, but slightly against homes. He changed his mind - the only poster in this whole thread to do so!
@ ittlecas - I'm surprised you noticed a difference between human and gnome for homes usefulness. Dwarf makes sense - higher BE means homes are giving up more and getting (a very little bit) less. Non-Art dwarves shouldn't use any homes, as I think you found.
In my sims I'd always used human (it is the only race I had played at the time - now only 1 age as DE) and found homes to be slightly weaker than TG/Forts. Due to difference in sim assumptions, it sounds like you find them slightly better for human, but not for other races. I don't understand why (if anything I'd have predicted that gnomes would get slightly better use from them) - it would be interesting if you found out why. It might be an artifact of your sim design because the changes are so small - I ran into those in sci and TG/Fort balance - or maybe it is real.
This should be closed. Or purged to like page 3 when chat about the topic was haulted...
agree with goodz! This has some very useful discussion points, but it has gotten off topic a bit
Those sims give wrong calculations, at least, the ones I have used did. I only used sims to see if they would give me the right answers and sadly they did not. The vines-strategy aka high-homes is a complex strategy and only meant for the highest of caliber player. Back in the day I was sick of having to fight the top players on equal terms so I spent two ages making a strategy that would give me the edge over the most skilled players. Now no longer are these type of player considered high caliber. When talking about the Vines-Strategy most will describe it as high homes. But it is much more than that. The Vines-Strategy is about reaching the highest mod values your province can reach, given it's land size. The Artisan was made for the Vines-Strategy, with that being said, if you wanted to try your hand at the Vines-Strategy you will have to start with the Artisan. In the echelon of skill I stand at the top. My strategy was at first only meant for my personal use, however, I soon realized that my strategy could help those who were having trouble over coming the big bottom feeders. I am happy to see more and more player attempting to use my strategy; however at the same time, I lose the edge I have as more people start to use my strategy. Sharing my knowledge about the game is a double edged sword. Teaching people the way I play allows those people to become stronger and more apt players, however, it also gives them the potential to be my rivals. I am confident in my skill so this is why I can shared my knowledge.
"In the echelon of skill I stand at the top."
This thread keeps giving and giving :)
This message is hidden because vines is on your ignore list.

That's definitely not the original vines.... The original vines didn't understand 90% of those words...
You mean 1/90 of the words.
