is there a katie n in it? what channel
The primary thought of "ghetto KD's" is that war is fun and winning wars is what Utopia is all about. However, "Pro KDs" usually do not even war and I've seen several quotes from top players saying war is for noobs etc.
How did this disconnect happen as to what is the primary point/goal of Utopia? Its like "ghettos" and "namebrand KDs" are playing 2 different games within the same sphere. People who play football don't try to bowl strikes (insert whatever conflicting sport analogy you desire here). Why is there an achievement disconnect in Utopia?
My experience with Utopia has until this age been playing with ghettos so the appeal of playing an age with no war is hard for me to grasp. I think alot of players are the same.
So could you explain the appeal of "pro" style play to my newb brain? I'm also curious how this disconnect happened. Is there a tangible reason this occurred?
I think this has been address multiple times. Essentially, wars are too costly in money and being vulnerable to post war vulture and so if your goal is to crown, you need to take calculated risks. Warring for "fun" is often unproductive and isn't conducive to preparation to maneuver for the land win.
Realest, will any race be able to compete with Undead bounce waves this age?
who cares, bouncers are nubs. you need to get your head checked if you get owned by bouncers.
this is profound.
Thank you based god

Realest, this age I played as avian/ cleric for the first time as an avian. I've enjoyed it more than any other combo i've played in the past, halfling/rogue, human/merch/sage etc..
If the changes stay true I think i would opt to go with the same combo next age. Or try avian/tactician. The tactician would have no need for barracks and could substitute those for extra hospitals to accomodate for the cleric loss. Also i think it would be more sustainable with the extra building credits and spec credits funding more 6 def specs.
Another related question is how would I cope with the 7/4 eilite. I mean combined with the tactician '-50% Land Losses when Ambushed' you wouldn't need to worry about being ambushed. However, it just doesn't have the power of the aggressive orc and undead armies. But I guess i will be relying on sheer speed of attack.
Again this is all just speculation based on the current revised changes.

I'm not sure what your question is but I'll answer based on what I think you're asking.
If you're asking if Avian Tac is better than Cleric, then my answer is no. Undying offense is pretty awesome so Cleric wins. In general, I would recommend against going Avian though based on these changes. Its pretty subpar with the BE hit and weak 6/4 elite (not 7/4 like you stated)
These are not set in stone for Avians, but unless you know something we don't know...
Bonuses:
* - 30% attack times
* Defensive Specialist Strength +1
Penalty:
* - 10% attack gains
* No access to stables
Other Information:
* Offensive Specialist: Griffins (5/0)
* Defensive Specialist: Harpies (0/6)
* Elite Unit: Drake (7/4, $650, 6.5 nw)
* Spell book: Clear Sight, Town Watch, Fanaticism
ahh, my fault, i looked at the 1st edition of changes. Avian is more playable in that rendition, and makes going cleric a no brainer.
So in you're opinion cleric would be better for the avian assuming you ran something like 20% rax? Obviously as full attacker i would still need to run high percentage hospitals for plague. What say 15%? Is that enough? As only 50% bonus against losses i would hardly call it an undying offence, but the hospitals could offset that... Just not sure how the bonuses would stack
Hospitals are a waste for Cleric, imo. Just boost your Guilds and Towers a few% to cast NB.
was he asking you Orday? Didn't think so, stfu and get outta my thread.
Q1: Probable setup for the crowning kd next age?
Q2: Best (good) setup for your avg. mid t. 100 warring kd. 25 semi-active provinces - able to amass 2 hits a day max during war, and 15 ppl during initial conflict wave (after which armies home will inevitably lead to a large return spread) - not caring about the cost inefficiency of war nor honour - but war-wins without the need to land-drop.
(taken rev. 2 changes stick)
go with your standard 18 core attacker, 3 t/m, 4 A/T, and you'll be in good shape.
lets get this **** up to 20K views, before we let it die.
ok, this thread can die now.
We need more of these threads going around. Less troll and more discussion. It was very helpful to me.
no ;_;
i need advices to be awesome
more people need to ask good, useful questions then eh?
War wins are based on what kingdom decides to stick it out and wait for the win and which kingdom decides to withdrawl... It's not uncommon for kingdoms who compete for Nw or land to make their final wave and then withdrawl from war. Even after the final wave were up 10k acres. They know theybbeat you and you know they beat you. Why wait for you to max gain wave and withdrawl taking half the acres back...
Kingdoms who war for honor have been know to use this tactic as well... And besides just because the opposing kingdom is up in land at minimum time does not necessarily mean they won the war...
wrong thread?
No I read a question thinking it was the last post... But in fact I was only on page 13 or 14 and not the last page...
so Ive been playing on and off since age 2... so, I'm making my most recent return to the game and have inevitably ransomed creation into a ghetto.. so I'm thinking about ruining everyones playing experience since they're all nuns and think they know how to war/ run a kingdom... Would a dwarf/ mystic with the standing revisions be viable to exoplre to 1500 acres while while in protection and go straight into dice mode! The reason being so is to pretty much just kill all the nub players in my kingdom... I figure Free land from paradice, free building, all my gc will go to training thieves and military... Now... Will I be able to pu
p enough defense to stop people from hitting me from oop... And if so when should I stop dicing and beging killing my own team mates?
Excuse the bad grammar/typing... Drunk and posting from my phone...
For new age:
Faery Sage or Faery Rouge
Human Sage or Human Rouge
Do faery still need that much science bonus with 50% thievery and magic effectiveness?
With high elites networth, will having high sciences inflate human's networth too much to easily find target?
stop worrying about setup right now when we dont even have finalized changes :/
How are losses figured in attacking someone? and or in defending? (troop losses)
Some say elites die less than spec do but I have sent 50% spec and 50% elites before and both died at the same rate. Just wonder if you have any info on it.
losses are based at 6.5% regardless of spec or elite, modify by race, personality, ops/spells, dragons.
Terrick: just for kicks; I started 1 age after you , played for the next 20 or so ages , then went a bit sporadic.
If you actually like the game, you might just think about encouraging/coaching newbies.
After all I see 7.2kish players, that is a far cry from the heyday of Utopia.
Even if it wasn't, use your powers for good, not evil;)
Regards, and I hope you have a fun age however you decide to play it.
If you feel you have too many questions this thread cant address, my kd is now opened to new players

Should science be on during protection?
Should armouries be ready only 19hrs before oop for training troops or are they useful for reducing draft cost as well?
