Realest has apparently been banned until Friday. Just a heads up if you guys are wondering why hes not responding to your questions.
Additionally, I run no towers and lower farms/banks because I have low needs in particular for runes and therefore my needs can be readily supplied by my KD. Same with gold/food. I run a cleric strat in part for the sustainability that it allows for when one is attacking very often and is getting attacked often.
I envision this build being viable for OOW randoming for grwoth and War: it packs a heavy offensive punch for OOW plunders which allow me to pump my army full of elites, and in war it's even more effective as a way of grabbing as much land from the other kd as possible within the smallest amount of time.
Why do undead need the Rogue personality?
This is my first time playing in a LONG time, and by no means was I pro before.
What should an undead/rogue attacker be doing, and why is the rogue personality better than Tactician or something similar?
Thank you in advance, I'll be watching this thread.
p.s.
Also, for a newly OOP Undead/Tactician attacker. What should my strat look like? Im planning on ~30 DPA. I just started protection, so I am not sure exactly what it will be at.
noooooo. ):
foxy:
static numbers don't mean very much at such a small size.
aside from the lack of watchtowers it looks like a very capable province in war, and you might be able to get away with no watchtowers at war start being that small. your total science investment seems pretty low, but at such a small size making a big investment doesn't mean so much going down the road.
you're well set up to tear down provinces at the end of chains, so it's just a matter of having your kingdom bring them down.
during war you might be able to switch some of your banks and arms around, if only to nudge your BE upwards while rebuilding. what to build depends on your circumstances really, but at a small size rotating buildings can yield pretty good results for a small price. like any avian, what you do with your incoming acres is essential, since you shouldn't be relying on a consistent build that tries to do everything well.
Oh yes this might also be quite relevant: During the war I usually end up being chainbait because the other hybrids in my kd have an average of maybe 65 opa, and quite high dpa when their armies out.
Hence no watchtowers for me--the enemy kd usually just waves me over and over with many of their provinces, and doens't bother with NS, simply because I only run around 37-40 dpa with my elites out and I guess kds just don't think i'm worth the stealth :P.
Meanwhile I'm retalling them hard (particularly those with low dpa, who I can potentially hit 5 times over), trying to average about 3 uniques per day at least, which in turn makes them only want to hit me harder.
I'm also open to suggestions as to what to put my acres in when I get them--though, my acres are being gained and lost so fast that sometimes it usually doesn't matter too much in the end. Last time I put a lot of them into rax so I could just hit them faster and harder, but obviously that's probably not the optimal choice in all cases....
At that point UD = No offensive losses, no trainable elites and Rogue thief dens = 2x value (or 2x value subject to BE later on).
2nd best space efficiency right behind dwarves coupled with increasing off in war (0 losses), 0 losses on TPA and plague, so the enemy is wasting runes and mana trying to NB that so you see 0 t/m ops against you. You force the opponent to waste resources to run very high tpa/WT or get ruined by NS (and they still got heavily NSed because it was free to the UD) and your economy is perfectly fine at the start and at the end of a war. Retal war to no end (again, forcing high t/m def) so any logical kingdom would not wave you. Complete control of any situation.
Now it's different with -50% losses (not 100%) and elites you can train so there are other possibilities besides rogue.
Actually in lowered tiered warring kingdoms the use of SW and ET is very good.. Especially when your opponent hybrid only logs in twice a day to attack/op... it's not very effective against super active hybrids though... but if you have a halfer rogue who only logs in twice a day to do NS runs, ET is a great way to drop that built up stealth.. And same goes for all those elf/mystics in the ghettos who are playing pur? mage and only log in twice a day to do their ops... A few SW ops from your pure attackers will save alot of damage on your own kingdom from spells... Not good for super active kingdoms but works great against liw tiered casual kingdoms..
alright So I'll bite
I'ts been a few years since I've really played but I've started to dabble the last few ages
I just wonder if I can get any advise about what I'm trying to do. I'll be general and specific here, please bear with me.
My thoughts were that with an undead mystic, I could effectively free up close to 20%, perhaps inbetween 17% and 20% of land from the basic 'essentials' right off the bat. No farms, Half the usual towers/guilds. Currently I'm running 3%/3% and not running into any troubles taking care of my own prov at least. This is ofc in a ghetto, so again please forgive but I still have questions..
Anyhow, with that extra land and science penalties, along with their high off elite, it seemed natural to want to put very high percentages into tg and forts, running a high offense attacker build.
It's no avian with attack time, but at least here's what I'm running, and here's some of the specs
1. Homes: 81 (10.4%) + 19 in progress (+2.4%)
2. Banks: 107 (13.7%) + 18 in progress (+2.3%)
3. Training Grounds: 170 (21.7%) + 35 in progress (+4.5%)
4. Forts: 167 (21.4%) + 15 in progress (+1.9%)
5. Hospitals: 50 (6.4%)
6. Guilds: 26 (3.3%) + 10 in progress (+1.3%)
7. Towers: 26 (3.3%) + 5 in progress (+0.6%)
8. Dungeons: 53 (6.8%)
So right away I wanna explain why such a high dungeon percentage. I looked at their specs and figured that because every two filled a job and provides income, -and- can attack at 3/0, it'd be good to get these filled for some 'multitalented' % of my population. It's still too soon for me to really know, I haven't even gotten the fifty I'm currently holding filled. Anyhow..

Only had prov for a week and a half or so, just wanted to see if I could get any inputs. Thanks! Btw Hi filthy, ladykage if you're still around anywhere
eta
Oh! I suppose it's critical that I should add this, this was done after a grab so
Total 19623
Max Population 20875
is what it shows -now-. I suppose it'd have been better to post after prov was built up from the gains that i've got, but meh. Too late now I guess
you have a lot of points there and you are kind of all over the place, so it's kind of hard to read. I just skimmed over your build and two general things I can point out right away are to get more guilds, and lower dungeons. Even as mystic 3.3% guilds means you arent making any wizards and you fail a lot of spells. As well, 7% dungeons is impossible to fill. Yes, math wise, they are very efficient, however, the caveat is that you need to fill them, and dungeons are rarely filled.
rests of the posts, I dont think I need to address. If you wanna discuss the merits of something, make a new thread, don't clutter **** in here.
Realest... Running a kingdom of 20 where most of my players have less than 2 ages under their belt.. Would you think it would be better to run human sages, avian clerics, or undead tacts as the core set up for attackers.. Along with 3 faery rogues... And what would be the strengths and weaknesses of each setup...
whats the point of running human sages if they dunno how to pump and whats the point of running avians if they arent active enough.
run orc/tact and faery/sage. with orcs activity doesnt need to be as high as avians to be able to hang in there with land.
Running 40% Homes, 20% Banks 10% Guilds 15% TD, 10% Farms, 5% other buildings in a ghetto war. Dont want to let the other KD have the war win so im trying to grow as big as i can, pumping science, etc since they really cant hit me effectively. What build should I run? [Im a halfling btw]
40% homes... nuff said.
to be fair if hes in a real ghetto like bottom 50 kd or so there is a good chance that 40% homes can 100% counter any fireball ops he'd receive and if hes trying to grow and bank for a ghetto its not an unreasonable thought.
Of course better builds may include TG, Rax, Forts, hospitals, towers depending on relative size he is to his kd mates and will actually teach him how to play a real prov and give the option to play above the hard bottom of utopia
not my thread.
when did this become ask nooblet? move along, man.
Which build would you have gone for realest and persain? (I could still be hit by conquests so I. could never send out alot of offense.)
realest still checking this?
He posted in it yesterday, so yes.
It IS ask realest, see his response to nooblet..
But since he didn't answer quickly and you did ask, i'll just say "depends" ;).
But seriously if you are in that much of a ghetto and you are at war, your build is almost 100% dependent on your size relative to the kd your waring and the rest of your kd.
If i take
it as note that u are basically unbreakable, a halfer and "growing" because they cant touch you i would try to move into an unbreakable attacker who aids gold & solds to the other active people in your kd, something like
8% farms
20% banks
10% forts
15% tg
20% hospitals
10% guilds
5% towers
12% TD
would be a decent way to start the war and then slightly modify your build with incoming acres with the buildings u think u need. Also dont run any science during war, its a waste of money.
Halfer is all over the map though, your build can vary widly based on what a kd needs when u play in the ghetto. for example IF you were truly mammoth in size relative to the rest of your kd (ie say 2 times their size so u are 100% safe) i might up drop forts and tg then up banks to say 30% and add in some arms so u can draft at 1.5%+ pat and aid the hell out a another active attacker. Needless to say regardless of your situations if u have any decent tpa, you probably dont need homes. the +% population bonus should provide you with enough a boost that u dont need homes to boost your BE, and a decent tpa+TD as well as attacking should provide you with and equivalent birth rate bonus (ie kidnap peasents if u need/gain peasants in attacks)
I check this forum at lunch usually or if a kdmate of mine directs my attention to it. I've read people's questions in here but haven't gotten a chance to answer them because I havent felt like it. The reason I don't answer questions is because others are so eager to answer for me and it's a waste of my time to wade through the question at first, and then the bull**** answer you give.
If you are so starved for the attention, go make an Ask ____ thread. These players are not getting my help they need because nubs like you feel the need to interject for no reason.
This is why we can't have nice things. You have the monarch of a back to back winning kingdom here, who has played at all levels in the game, and is currently number two in honor (was first for 2 weeks while we pumped) with a kingdom that has 10 players recruited off this forum, and random nubs like Persain, Terrick, nooblet STILL have to try and get their say.
So what's the point of me checking this thread when it's just a massive clutter of crap? If you guys are serious about getting help from this thread, you reduce the spam and take your garbage opinions, which are bull****, out of this thread.
Yea, tbh, i like reading this thread and the questions asked, thinking about what Realest's advice would be, but its pointless for anybody else to respond to the questions, as no one person has the same thought process as another.
Also, if other people answer questions then it becomes more of a discussion. Whats the point of that when u can just start a new thread?
Please leave the thread to Realest, its far more interesting that way imo.
how do people run pure elites? i've tried running 20% banks, and a high amount of armouries, but i still end up growing quicker if i only train offensive specs, and elites with credits. basically i'm running outta money
thank you
Training elites preserves your peasant count, increasing your income to better train elites. Being fat in a constant state of growth is normal. As targets exhaust, your epa will start to fill in allowing you to hit the breakaway explorers that would otherwise be untouchable with an ospec offense.
why no MKP?
y u no war? :(
y -U- no war?
Realest... Only realest please.
What is the purpose of an UD attacker in war. Why do you need the rogue personality? Do you always go A/T as undead? I'm wondering also if I should train straight off specs and then do trad marches to make them elites, or if I should train straight elites now. Any suggestions as to a war strat for undead as well? I'm fighting people with generally higher defense because I had to restart my province mid age.
I have in fact a good question:
When you are king, and you already get the bonusses from your status rank as a king.
Do you still get the bonusses extra from your honor? Is it added to the bonus from king?
You do get the honor bonus and it multiplies.
I am very happy with that :)
octo trying to be realest?
octo is > Realest, hence I havent cussed him out. His answers are good.
