I don't agree that the attack message should be split into paragraphs. I dunno how the other bots work, but for mine it's a lot easier if all the important stuff is in the same line. You can do what you want with highlighting etc. but splitting up so I have to look for prov name, attack time and gains in different messages just makes it harder to parse
You're all being stupid.
Adapt your tools to fit the game - don't demand or even consider for a second that the game should be adapted to fit your tools.

Oh yes. They should of course do everything they can not to help people make tools. Why don't we split the attack message up in lots of parts instead? Wouldn't it be much more fun if every word was on it's own line? That way it will also be harder for the tool makers, which makes the game much easier and enjoyable to play. I also think we should ban anyone who uses angel while we're at it, or at least make it so hard for the developer of angel to parse info from the game so that he doesn't want to do it anymore. All for the sake of the game!
Or we could just work together and try to make the game better? Because I really don't see how it hurts anyone to try to make things easier for people both ingame and through supporting the creation of useful tools.

Palem, I was being sarcastic in the first part of my post, if that escaped you.
I never said to base the game around tools, and I doubt anyone else meant that either. It's just absurd to call people stupid for wanting to create a symbiosis between the game developers and the players. If something in the game can be made easier for tool developers without making it worse for the players, then why the hell shouldn't it?
I used the word easy to describe a change such as what MA suggested about having highlights in the attack messages etc. which imo would make the game better.
Some tools make the game more playable. Utopiapimp and Angel are two prime examples that apply to a large group of players. Unless the game replaces the need for those tools, it makes complete sense to try to make things easier for the developers of those tools, UNLESS it makes the game worse for other people (and generally that's not the case)
Even if it so happens that you don't like the tools available, doesn't mean someone else doesn't. There's no basis there for refusing changes to the game unless you can give examples of why it makes the game worse

About the Beta testing, its getting better and better. Now all i would love is for us to be able to choose simple of "pretty"letters. I realy do not like the box where you can make all colors and stuff. Makes posting of symbian a pain/impossible and i like normal writing, not the fancy colors.
Pimp is NOT essential. It's only a tool. They could pull the plug at any time, and then what? Since we have a bot with som+som function we hardly use pimp anymore.Quote:

Now they may have thought to have fixed all the problems or whatever, but they didn't or I would have Teen Porn, and Ludicrous Anti-Virus Advertising Web Pages popup out of nowhere while I'm trying to cast spells, or go from my Mystics to My Forum Page.
I only did this, and have a severe disdain for the amount of time with all the do's and don'ts, the "Confirm I'm Human", Madness, just to get someone to fix that Dog Gone problem.

Since I posted my last message, I have been unable to even get into my account. Get to Log in screen, then white blank, get into Login Account Screen, then it sits there for a long time and nothing. Now I can't even get the Swirve.com to come up on my computer, wait a long time, and it goes white blank. Now I've just about had it with all this BS. Will someone somewhere tell me who I can contact to fix this CRAP!!!!!
Or if someone is doing something to fix the first problem, it is causing this problem, now. I have a war coming soon, and I am just a D.... sitting duck, if I can't access my game. Now who's fault would that be, not mine, but I will be the one paying for it.

Just created acc to see how stuff look like and I like it more than earlier. Tabbed throne looks nice. I still want all spells in one box tho. Also, merge war and relations in one tab. It will bring confusion as war stance overrides all other relations

and i need to keep my 2-3 loyal persons with me - to give some hopes etc.
they are getting tired already of this age - i really dont want to see deletions/inactivity by my LAST active members.
3+ weeks i think
some of the changes they've made in beta are very good.
still a couple of things though that are bothersome.
1. menu really needs to be static
2. kd page needs a lot of work still
- prov names need to be limited so when you have a prov with 30 char it doesn't bump
it to 2 lines and mess up the page (pushes title, race and acres to a 2nd line)
- take the word "acres" out
- the entire page needs to be single spaced (not 1.5) to avoid so much scrolling
- remove the subheadings of kingdom statistics and warfare and put them back into
just a very succinct single spaced pocket of information like currently exists.
again, it's far too spread out and requires far too much scrolling.
3. Forums
- take out the stupid #1 #2 #3 between posts in each thread
- the main forum page is cluttered since it lists the ruler and prov name under each
thread name. messy messy.
4. Messages - PLEASE allow us to PM ourselves!
5. Just in general, most pages need to be single spaced in many areas, not the 1.5 spaces they have now, it makes it look messier, and requires to much scrolling.
6. Voting - why on earth is the kd banner in there????

will the new wol age be on the new code, and if so will it be based on age 42 and tweaked, i.e no undeads, raze kills buildings etc
Why would they end WoL early if it wasn't on the new code? Change list is needed ASAP.
It's going to be fun, and also very sad, to see how fast the game dies moving from this point forward.

I'm a bit concerned. Are they going to use the old code or the new code? If the old code, are they going to have the bugs fixed (at least the serious ones)? If they're going to use the new code, will it be ready in time? There are still quite a few bugs outstanding on the new code, and I don't think it's ready for prime time yet. Close, but unless Sean and Brian get about 4 clones apiece and work straight 16 hour days, it's not going to be ready.

When I log in to play I don't notice any bugs at this point. Not to say there aren't any but I just don't think its 'quite a few'
Sir Nasty, I use it to send myself reminders. keeping a notepad file on my puter doesn't help me (on top of the fact, that due to personal reasons, i can't keep that kind of stuff on the computer).
When mass messages are sent, it's nice to have a copy of it in my own inbox.
and as null said, i would send things to myself to see how they'd format out, or if it would fit, etc.
and pm's have HUGE formatting issues anyway.
and i'm really concerned about the new age if they're starting it on the new code, that's a week (or less) on gen? are you kidding me?
Once again they ignore the fact that kingdoms have plans far ahead of one week. Two week notice for an age ending should be the absolute minimum. New code or not, you are ****ing with kingdoms plans with this short notice crap you always pull.
