Wats up everyone. I'm a player who's been out of the game for close to a decade now and I'm starting up again as UD/Tact. I've read up a ton about what the shape of my build should be when I'm in full swing, but my memory is virtually non-existent on how to start up my province. What's a good startup strat for UD/Tact and how should I eventually transition that to my OOP build? Thanks in advance
Raze farms. Build 320 banks. Explore 100 acres. Build those into Armouries then mass troop pump 24 hours or so before OOP.
Train 500 theives for 1TPA, 3000 Zombies for defense and then as many skeletons as you can. Attack constantly and as your acres grow build Training Grounds, Guilds, Towers, Hospitals, Watch Towers and Guard Stations.

Exploring and building is cheap already, i don't see the benefit of mills. But each to their own.

I have never used libraries. As for books just pump them into everything except Agriculture.

Always put most of your early science into income. The higher income you have, the more science/troops you can get etc..

cast l+p on 16th jan
cast pat 23rd jan, start drafting (draft rate 45%)
recast pat every time it drops
8th MARCH
train 500 d specs 500 thieves 3.7k o specs (MAKE SURE IA AND PAT ARE CAST) turn draft up to 50%
train o specs every tick till oop
OOP 2k def 1.2 tpa ~17k off
hit for land to convert those leets. enjoy

Never heard of Backstab. I first found Utopia a decade ago but because my life has been hectic and ----ty, last Age was my first chance to play from start to finish.
Don't build mills unless you are exploring a ton.

you don't want to be exploring much if any at all on undead since you want to be hitting for land to convert specs into leets. exploring 100-166 is fine and will increase the amount of off you have OOP but if youre looking to war quickly at a smallish size it won't be beneficial to ur kd.Quote:

OOP there should be roughly another 2k defence in training, it would be wise to spend all credits gained on hitting first tick into d specs aswell
roughly 32 hours oop you should have 30k offense and 12-14k defence, should be completed by training 1k ospecs and getting ~22% convertions on all the specs you came oop with. defence is obtained by training 1.5-2k d specs from oop via credit gains on attacking supplemented by income ofc.
Thanks for the input guys. I've been reading a ton about builds OOP, and the biggest sticking point I've seen is the debate over hospitals vs. GS. UD don't get plague, so that negates one of the perks of hospitals, but I feel like I'd still be really easy to chain down if I didn't have any
oop war builds are basically still economy builds, you won't be fully drafted so war builds wont be hugely effective. on an undead, you will only ever need 10% rax and TG's if you war in first week of age. If you war a halfing/faery strong kingdom then 10% wt's help but other than that you should still be in semi pump build
What's the optimum number of banks and armories for protection? Them Ghouls are expensive.
Is razing farms a good idea? You wont have very good income for the first 16hours.
the lost income is the same whenever you do it, only you lose 1-2% income science if you do it later. Sure if you were exploring alot for oop then it would matter as you wouldn't be max pop, but since he isn't its fine to do first tick

if ur just throwing a few fbs and doing self spells then use the first build, with 35% gs/wt and 10% stables and go with 11% towers, guilds @ 12.5%. You will need to invest fairly heavily into channeling science in the last 2 situations

I thought I'd post my strat here, for undead:
00 115 banks 70 guilds 35 towers 60 stables
06 explore 295-305 acres
BUILD PRIORITY:
ASAP build up to 280 banks. As soon as you can afford to, raze farms and homes and build them to banks. Keep in mind this is impossible before day 16 due to tiny income.
THEN build up to 180 armories
THEN BEFORE day 37 build 60 TG's 14 dungeons.
Cast Patriotism and L&P whenever you can or need to (starting day 21)
53 inspire army. Train troops as needed
54-71 train troops
72 stats:
[rough, would be more because hard to factor in spells. This is based on my preferred spec allocation]
710 land, 72knw. 102 nw/acre
134 wizards,
141 thieves
Net Offensive Points at Home: 24,710
Net Defensive Points at Home: 7,148

why not get 1-1.5 tpa to steal some gold off the multitude of farms/inactives/people who mess up their oop?
It's up to the user's discretion as to what they do with the resources. I prefer having 8-10k extra offence or defence instead of 1-1.4 tpa. Money never seems to be a problem with so many armories and banks.
As an UD/Tact with no Rax, will I be able to hit twice a day in war?
Also, Crease, if I want to go A/t, can I switch WT for TD ? It will somehow boost my thievery defence...

Sure, what you invest your resources in is up to you. I just want to point out that you'll only get about 4k extra off if you don't go for the 1-1.5 tpa. And also, that tpa helps defend your resources as well.
1-1.5tpa @ 700 acres = 700-1050 thieves, when one spec costs 247 as opposed to 500 for a thief, that's 1417-2125 specs, which is 5688-8500, factoring in horses and 10% TG's it's 8157-12218 extra offence.Quote:
