Funding dragon on a surprise wave!

Ok, so I'm in a debat. With another kingdom mate about the effectiveness of funding a dragon on wave! My argument is that it's better to be safe than sorry and have a dragon fully funded and ready to go within a few hours of when we start our wave! His arguement is that a dragon is a waste of resources unless war is guaranteed and the 6 million gc we put into a drake that doesn't fly is a waste and never shoukd of been funded... The wAy I look at it is it's better to wave a d have a dragon funded pre-war and ready to go on the chance that war may or may not happen for us. and my kingdom mate is telling me to make the wave and don't start or fund dragon unless they bite back/declare... What's everyone think?

If you can fund it, why not? Why give them the opportunity to steal your dragon money?

start the dragon, don't fund it
    make the wave.

if they bite back you fund it.

also store your GC in high TPA provinces who can't be plundered.

That is an obtion Ron but unfortunately we have no cows or rather large provinces with extreme tpa/def to hold onto it!

fund with money in excess of 300-400k or so, at that point its not worth to steal. Wait with the rest until they start to retal. Unless you have that faery with tpa/wpa/def to protect all cash from steal, fools gold and plunder.

Fund the dragon so that way its not stolen for their dragon if it does escalate to war. If they don't bite, send it anyway making the farming over the next couple days easier ;)

If you're sitting on a funded dragon and they turn down war, just send them a dragon for being cowards.

Always fund the dragon down to 1gc and start it at first conflict.

Its generally probably worth it pre wave if you are well prepared to send a emerald/ruby dragon with you wave to make your wave more damaging. Then start a 2nd, you can fund that one if they bite :p
My life is better then yours.

If you can fund a drake, do so. If it makes you have to stop and wait 2 days to stock gc again before you select another target to war, so be it. Least you have a fully funded fluffy ready to fly.
If they dont bite back, I agree with Palem. Send it, and commencing hitting for acres (if thats what you want) or a learn wave. Whatever tickles your fancy. This is a game, and should be treated as such. When I was running Anzac we usually had a 12 hour window, if a kingdom sent a cf, my guys have 12 hours to take what they wanted before it was accepted. In some cases it was insta-accepted, but generally rule of thumb was 12 hour window, lord knows Anzac was forced to eat alot of waves over the past 10 ages.

Some times, people have to eat waves, just because a kingdom doesnt want war, doesnt mean you cant take their shiz. Dog eat dog world.
