hello, just started and need some tips on how to get things rollin, dont really know what this games about so bear with me. need to know how to build up an empire and overall how to play this game.

Make a prov and dick around with it a bit. Come on to IRC and enter strategy and/or tactics. Ask questions. If you still like it and want to know more after a couple days(you'll prolly wanna restart that orc/rogue anywase), find a kd in recruitment that can help you and has similar activity level to you. There are a few(but not many) good posts in strategy section of these forums as well.

The people telling you to get on irc are correct, this game is team based so without communication you will always fail. Other than that its hard to give you any pointers becuse you have a lot of flexibility in how to do things in game. do you want to grow big and strong? if so how do u want to do that (IE atacking in war, random attacking out of war, pardicing/exploring).

I would start with the game guide and the dragon portal guide as well and try and familiarize yourself with some of the terminology and basic game play ideas then keep asking questions hear or on IRC (irc.utonet.org is the server most of us are on and #tactics or #strategy are the best channels for you). Dear daboss, I also suggest reading the guide in Persain's link. It's a very old version of the guide to this game, but I think it describes the basic concepts a little better than the wiki currently does. If you have more specific questions be sure to ask :)

Since Utopia is a team game, your best bet for a first step is to ask for advice from leaders in your KD. They will have a little (M) or (S) by their name! Good luck! No amount of reading anything else will help you more then that!

Not be be off topic hear but see what i mean palem, about half the posts on the forums being useless/troll posts when a new players ask question? 11 replays so far and near half of them of been trolling/useless. This time they just happen to be trolling Proteus instead of the newbie. either way its still ridiculous that this can go on but we cant talk in sillspeach when their is no rule against it but their are very clear rules about spamming/derailing/trolling.

Anyways daboss is you want more help without having to filter through the spam feel free to private message me over the forums as well (you may have to make a few more forum posts before you are allowed to do message but i don't think its that many)

His questions are being answered and he's not being trolled. These are the two things you said didn't happen lol

Also, afaik, no one has attempted to contact Bishop in private to discuss the silltalk ban, like you were instructed to do by both bishop and myself, if you seriously wanted to get the ban lifted.
