Simians Vs Sanctuary

Sanctuary is winning the battle of the smalls, which is what matters in a war that neither side wants to w/d from.

Simians needs to massacre and NS the troops away from sanc's 0 defense provinces. Their networth has barely changed in a day (still 70k and 116k), whereas simians chainees have dropped to 58k and 71k NW, respectively.

If simians is able to kill these guys down to 50k NW, then those provinces will no longer be able to finish up chains and bring Simians provinces that low, as they're currently doing now.

can't keep up with +56% income on merchant

first of all i think i speak for everyone when i say how cool jdorje has been in providing summaries, feedback, tactics, etc regarding the war.

on that note however, i'm confused about the statistic he just threw out of +56% income on merchant. Were you including science or banks or something??? If so it seems that the number wouldnt be a consistent +56%. But you threw out 56% as a straight up number, and i just am trying to learn here. Making sure i'm not missing something.

Plz explain someone?

Dragon gives -10% to non-merchant, merchant gets +40%. Around +56%. With riots (which merchant is also immune to) it can be higher - +94% income for merchant. (The guide says riots is -20% income, is this true? It used to only be -20% peasant income.)

Merchant is quite unbeatable really, and by far the strongest pers even after getting a huge nerf since last age. If only it weren't so boring everyone would run it every age. Of course we have merchants too, and they have non-merchants. I think our overall income is comparable. But our core is massively fatter than theirs, and this leads to a lot more multi-taps. Provinces that have been fireballed - our <100 nw/a guys, and their fat big provinces - are not indicative of this.

if i may ask your opinion, although slightly off topic.......

i have never considered merchant as a viable personality for a "warring kingdom". (think ghetto wars)

However, the more math i put into it, the more i feel that it is the #1 choice.

20 provs against 20 provs. One kingdom a mixture of rogues, tacticians, and primarily cleric. The other..... Merchant.

flogger has already discussed this with me and voted for merchants (im obviously not accounting for T/M personalites here, just ur attacking core)

I can think of at least one example where merchant would not be the best pick for an attacking base.

-Midsized KD aiming for 4 wars on average during round.

Cleric would be better imho. However, if youre looking to war after war after war, then merch is prolly the way to go. If youre looking for a t5 finish, then merch is prolly the way to go.

I picked merch this round for ud, and there is no way i could pick anyother personality with ud after experiencing it firsthand. For an avian or orc with lots of "pump" time, its a different story tho imo.

Flogger, no, sanc is not winning the battle of the smalls. I know you had some ideas on how to controll the smalls but we dun have stealth and to many generals to waste on them right now.
Top attackers and mid sized is going down. The more peasants they got the harder we hit them down.

Dorje got some questions about merchant setup, yet its Simians playing it.

War is still very interesting but since day 1 i been pretty confident of merch/avian stamina with the heavy T/M support.
