Nope there isnt, there is about 4,5 milion people with norwegian ancestry in US, and about 4,9 milions in Norway.

Also, I don't know what Americans are taught in school, but Norwegian Vikings were the first non-indians to discover the American continent. Leiv Eriksson is one of persons the sagas speak of. There were several short-lived colonies, possibly also around New York City. Viking coins and viking houses have been found. :)
