    Orc War Hero

    I am considering starting a heavy attacker province. It is very likely that I will land in a ghetto KD.

    I want to know what is a good race/personality combo that will allow me to survive at above 100K networth on the server. I like attacking but I also am conscious about economy. Therefore I have picked War Hero for the extra credits to be able to build faster.

    My build strat will be as follows:

    20.0% Training Grounds
    15.0% Banks
    12.5% Homes
    12.5% Guilds
    12.5% Guard Stations
    7.5% Hospitals
    7.5% Barracks
    7.5% Farms
    5.0% Towers

    I will attempt to maintain 2.0 TPA at all times and during war, I will change into this strat:

    20.0% Training Grounds
    12.5% Homes
    12.5% Guard Stations
    10.0% Banks
    10.0% Guilds
    10.0% Watchtowers
    7.5% Farms
    5.0% Hospitals
    5.0% Barracks
    5.0% Towers

    I will attempt to keep 2.0 TPA and 1.0 WPA.

    Just need some tips on how to survive after 100K networth and whether this strat should be modified somewhat.

    I also note that I will be attempting to run an all elite offence. Is ambushing still an issue? If so, am I better off with a Warrior?

    100k networth, pick anything but gnome.
    Gnome works better at large networths, and dark elf used to work better the smaller you were, but now the humble chocolate elf sucks completely.

    Homes aren't good at all for orc, because you're going to bring in and trade so much land, their effects won't ever really set in.

    Run more barracks, and more hospitals.
    The more attacks you can throw out, while losing as few units as possible, the longer you'll be able to endure.

    I've considered what you have said and I am of the view that you have a good point. :)

    Is Orc/War Hero still a good combo though? Or is Orc/Warrior better? Any thoughts?

    It's decent enough, but I prefer human and dwarf for outright attacking.
    They last far longer, and have better defense than orc, due to turtlepower.

    The way orc is currently, it's very powerful in short, extremely bloody conflicts, and even more so if you field a lot of them, but their power drops really, really fast as war drags on, and they don't like dueling with dragons one bit.

    I'd run warrior, because more attacks is one of the big three bonuses in the game.

    I agree with VT2. Why would you run less hosp in war than OOW.

    More hosp, more rax. You can drop towers a bit if you have some rune support. You may need more WT than that going up against a thief KD.

    I find war hero very good when used with other war heros. Troop losses add up quickly. The credits are nice, but I would go with warrior if you can make use of the attack time. Ambushing can be an issue, depending on the type of KD you war. Some KD's use anon so they can't get ambushed, but that will destroy your attack time and if you care about honour that won't work for you.

    Two attacks equal massive losses.
    One attack with a bonus to losses equals less losses, and less land taken.

    If you're an Orc/Warhero...How about you try this during War...

    20% TGs
    20% GS
    15% Rax
    15% Hospitals
    The rest is up to you...;)

    cause that is 70% of your land...

    which leaves 30% for banks/farms/guilds/towers/homes
    Deliverance -> secrets -> anzac -> mercy -> rage -> "ghetto"

    Personally I'd go warrior with Orc, especially if you are planning on running all leet offense. Otherwise expect to get ambushed and trad marched losing any acres you may have gained from your initial hit (along with losing plenty of leets in the process). Especially if you find yourself the only orc in the kd.

    +1 to that.

    Though if they want to kill your leets they will ambush you anyway just because of how easy it is.

    I think I'll go Orc/Warrior instead.

    Similar build strat

    20.0% Training Grounds
    15.0% Banks
    12.5% Homes
    12.5% Guilds
    12.5% Guard Stations
    7.5% Hospitals
    7.5% Barracks
    7.5% Farms
    5.0% Towers

    Guard Stations can be subbed for Watchtowers if appropriate. Banks and Guilds will be reduced to accomodate more Hospitals and Barracks.

    However, another question is: should I replace Banks with Armouries so that I can continue to churn out military? I know that Orcs already benefit from reduced military wages and draft costs but I'm considering putting up Armouries to supplement my Hospitals (which are in effect de facto banks).

    Homes to 10% and towers to 3% and up your Hosp to 12 or so. 10% banks should be sufficience and you need to fit WT in there.

    Banks are better than arms in war. You can certainly drop some buildings OOW and sub in arms. Maybe drop the rax OOW since you wont need to maintain as much activity.

    Guilds can go to 10% during war as long as you keep building them up when land comes in.
