Very slow browsing in Utopia

Hi, I'm having this problem where I have very long loading times in between screens when I browse through the game. When my province was in protection everything was fine, but as soon as I came oop everything because really slow (7-9 seconds loading time in between screens).

Is this something everyone is experiencing ? And can I do something about it ?
I am running Windows Vista as OS. Any help or info would be really appreciated.

but, fortunately it's not related...

Well be happy you can log in? Most people got problems even going past the login screen.

I know ppl cant log in right now, thats kinda a different issue which needs to be resolved by Omac.
Vista sucks indeed, was just hoping maybe someone knew any Internet settings I might adjust to make things go smoother.

im hoping you are using something other than IE =P

other than that, there isnt alot you can do... i do suggest firefox though, it has a number of extensions that make uto life much nicer

When I use my friends computer (vista and faster internet then my own) utopia is still damn slow

It's the ads. In certain parts of the world, you get ads that load slowly. You won't see the entire page until you have all the ads. Ya it sucks, shutdown javascript and things go silky smooth. Or pay for "no ads".

I've had a netbook on GPRS loading Utopia way faster then a Intel i7 machine with all the works on vista and IE8 on a 50mb/s cable connection.

Biggest difference? I got FF3 with adblock and made it so no pictures are loading.

Anything that loads adds and pictures slows it down.

Greenie, yeah Im afraid I am using IE, so dont think I can use that addblocker you linked :(

Weird thing is though, if its the adds, then why was everything very fast when my province was in protection still ? Or are there no adds in that stage, didnt rly look.
