Alliances

Apparently there are 5 main alliances at the top level?

I would love for someone to fill me in. In addition, i see tons of KD's tagged with the HAJ.

What exactly goes on with these "alliances". As a monarch, should i be wary of waving into a HAJ KD since they could have allies throw massacre waves into us before war, or even raze into us during war?

Is it something to be taken seriously, or to be taken lightly and still carry on with normal warring and pre-war procedures.

Im mostly talking diplomacy here, since my KD has no alliances. We have CF's of course, but nothing considered an ALLIANCE that we would do huge waves for each other. Is that something that is necessary to advance to the higher ranks, or is it just something silly that KD's do to try and show power?

Gamewise it's silly and serves no ingame purpose unless perhaps in the top 10'ish. Possibly there are nice social reasons to be in an alliance. I never cared for any tags when waving kd's, and have yet over many years to see any alliance action against me as long as you play fair yourself.

In general Alliance KDs fight 1vs1. Although their are exceptions :)

Most alliances expect their kingdoms to handle their own problems so you shouldn't be worried about getting bashed by an alliance when you have a 1 vs. 1 conflict.

You do from time to time get waved by 2 KDs in the same alliance (HAJ is more obvious because of the clearer tags) who are just looking for their war. If you're 1 of 5 KDs that are in their range who aren't rebuilding, hostile, in war, etc. then they could just both choose you to wave independently, and you just have the misfortune to have them close together.

thats why i try to take CE's. avoid any messes big brother has done. but **** happens. i know there are 3 main alliances in the game. HaJ, Abs, and something else. Top kingdoms have alliances to alliances though so its a bigger scope then you may think :-S

It's like unions in the real world they once were cool and everyone wanted in but now they cause unnecessary bankruptcies.

Reinvent the alliance cause they used to have some purpose like promoting 2v1 and strongarming independent kds but now everyone's too scared to do that
