I need help convincing my kd to use IRC. They seem reluctant. Do you have any good talking points that I can use to convince them?

Don't mke them download anything at first:
    http://client00.chat.mibbit.com/

You need like 5 people using it as a base especially who idle otherwise there isn't much point since ppl just see an empty useless chan.

Clear directions on how to get into a channel help, also perhaps introduce them to #tactics so they can see some community and ask questions / get flamed.

I forgot why I dropped this thread. Now I remember; scrubs answering questions in a pro thread is a major turn off.

Realest, read something interesting in some earlier posts re: Ruby dragons. I'm an advocate for them however our monarch refuses to use them in any engagement. I have my reasons and opinions for utilizing them, but from a pro's perspective: what are some points and factuals I can present to my monarch to convince him to utilize Rubies?

Yes yes you know, it is all very nice and pretty irrelevant when the leading utopian strategy is to join an alliance who exists to destroy all other comparable talented players sequentially, periodically and repeatedly. then build all economy and get fed to leave 20 dpa 1.5 tpa in fortified after exploring 9500 acres to 18k because all existing threats are either dead or napped or forced to play so defensively that they can't attack back (or would be obviously rather gang banged if they did anything other than fought other ghettos). Now I see Realest has beaten this 4:1 Absalom system in the past with a single team and I want to know how he achieved this, as a former #1 player myself in every category I find it mind boggling that he was able to do The Trollfags or whatever stupid name he gave the team that age.
People with that level of diplomatic and cheating ability are on another level. You don't have to exploit or cheat to win, you do need contacts who do though and if you do get near the top you do meet people who cheat regularly and do it with a professional level of skill.

Of course he's an egotistical ass, but that's what you would expect from a guy who get's his kudos in such an esoteric way as conquering the Utopia game that has no fan base and no prizes (it's not a very easy to understand spectator sport and having a woman dressed as a small boy from a childrens cartoon for a banner with ample breasts does not qualify for sexy marketing awards the likes of Evony and Wartunes).

There are only 2 viable strategies, NAP or join the dominant alliance. Utopia is a 100 vs 20 game if you choose recruitment outside the alliance, you have the chance to take orders from someone who has been practicing losing for many ages. You start outnumbered 5:1 by professional players in the dominant alliance, slotted into a team of a greenhorns whose goal is to experiment with fire balling each other and trading acres around 1500 for 13 weeks, you are then expected to compete vs other green horns who like to but heads as much as possible.

I have played a good age and survived 5 gang bang attempts by teams in the top 20 and have worked hard to be in the top 100 provinces coming from a disorganised bottom rung kingdom ranked 280, with no other province >2k acres I attacked to over 10k acres.
While decent people can just leap frog double explore to 18-20k acres and pump 99% draft rate with high science because of their kingdom & allies. Everything I had to do individually and for the team was 4x longer and harder than the strategies the other top players can get away with. I've achieved a province with over 1,000,000 defense points and only explored my fair 3k acres from the pool (there is 17k left in there that the team is too bad to use). I have positive attack stats of > +7k acres. I have proved that I still have superior skills to 99% of utopia players despite a 10 year break and my view is that the game is awesome and fun and there are many ways to play. I recommend changing the rankings output and integrating alliances into it, so you have a scoreboard for alliance players and for non alliance players. Because there is clearly a complete disparity between being the #1 player in an Absalom kingdom under 70M nw and being the #1 player in all kingdoms under 10M NW although I suspect that both are equally challenging to achieve.

How do you compete against 4 equal kingdoms who can trade GC and cover each others fat pumps using only 1 kingdom who is vulnerable while saving gc or hostile or pumping in fortified or fighting? For example AMA this age, clearly winning, better setup, beat 1 of 4, get swindled in hostile for GC, other kingdom feeds GC to make the ABS kingdom win, is this even legal play?

"Now I see Realest has beaten this 4:1 Absalom system in the past with a single team and I want to know how he achieved this, as a former #1 player myself in every category I find it mind boggling that he was able to do The Trollfags or whatever stupid name he gave the team that age. "

The 1837 economic land bubble crisis, being chained from high acres causes land costs to plummet, so I can see it was all part of the plan for your kingdom to give me free acres, woohoo for optimism.

Or perhaps you were referring to the economic crisis experienced by TC for the mass use of ineffective T/M ops into fortified watchtowers? Smooth also.

For most kds, ruby seems like an obvious bet because the other dragons require good to great coordination to maximize it's potential. On paper, the other dragons seem to work well with various options, but to actually make that happen is too difficult for most kingdoms. The ruby isnt perfect, but it's convenience and ease of use should be a top consideration. Conflicts usually involve hitting your opponents to bits, and ruby is the most straight forward way to do that.

Long story, I caught some breaks. Cliff notes, i was lucky. There's a lot I could probably share and tell you, but you wouldnt believe me anyway because you seem to have some rooted misconception of top play.

Yes I probably don't understand what you are talking about with that limited explanation.
There are not many breadcrumbs to follow from that. My purpose is only curiosity.

It would be hard for you to explain diplomacy in one concise sentence and I suppose it has been a very long time since I have played in a top kingdom so I have a jaded ghetto perspective.
