Q for Emeriti - Is it cool to raze into EoW if you want a CF

For those not following:

1) Emeriti asks us for CF. We are the #1 and #2 kingdoms.
2) We say we want a short CF because we are clerics. They want a long CF because they are sages.
3) 5 hours later a curious ghetto who "hasn't played for 30 ages" but has the #1 province sends 6 razes our way unprovoked approximately 24 hours into our 4 days EoW.
4) Both Emeriti and this kd that hits us wants a CF from us, which we now have to give.

We're told that this curious kingdom has ties to Emeriti. they have since intra-razed their land so we can't gain any land back, and we've since been forced to CF emeriti, presumably taking out their only threat to an easy age win.

Hi, I was the #1 province that ordered the razings. Here is a few things that flogger lefted out.

1) My kingdom is a ghetto that just wanted to be lefted alone and wasn't looking at trouble.
2) BB wins their 1st war, putting them from 15k to ~22k acres on may 19th. Their biggest provinces are ~1k acres. (At that time, my kingdom had 1 2.5k acres, 1 1.9k and 1 1.6)
3) Between june 9th and july7th, during their post-war cf, they used their pool and did put several provinces to 1.5k-2k acres becoming real threats to my kingdom. They also did it while running 10k defense. (New kingdom size around 33k acres)
4) At July 6th, I ingamed monarch and steward of BB about getting a cf since they were putting big provinces maybe to hit us down. Steward reads my message but doesn't answer.
5) At the start of July 10th, I ingamed 3 more provinces of BB that were online to tell them to get their leaders online to talk to me. They read but ignored my messages too.
6) In the world of utopia, when someone gets into a position to farm you and ignores your attemps at diplomacy, it usually means they are coming at you. Knowing post-war is so strong and the time was limited, we had to get their attention so at the very end of July 10th-start of july11th, we sent 5 razes into them for a total of 380 acres (1.3% of their total acres)
7) Around 20 minutes later, Flogger shows up and I tried to do diplo with him but the discussion was mainly: "This is our non-crowning age, you hit into post-war, you will die."
8) Protector got online later and we tried to do some diplomacy. He told me they explored to go at the #1 kingdom and that they would be waiting for them the moment they got out of post-war, making it difficult to do any deal. I offered the acres we razed back + bonus acres + gold but was turned down (no amount was discussed but I was willing to be very generous considering we did hit into post-war). I also proposed a scenario under which we would be hostile with eachother until they could go to fortified and get full protection (and train for #1 kingdom) then we could cf. Got turned down again. I then told him to make me an offer he would judge acceptable and was asked to give them a war. Considering that would be a total farmwar, I turned that offer down but offered again ressources. Protector had to go and it was 4am, so the discussion ended.
9) Since BB wasn't interested in settling this down and told me they were going to destroy us, I used my province to raze 4x more time (avoiding giving button) in the next 48h.
10) Once they were training up and were close to break me, I got myself intraed.


Short version: Thought BB were coming for us (apparently they were not), we threw some hits into them to get them in the diplo's table with the intention of giving everything back + bonus but they wanted to destroy us instead. All of this had nothing to do with #1 kingdom but everything to do to try to protect my overgrown ghetto (I even proposed a deal that would be advantageous for BB and let them prepare to war #1 kingdom)
